• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Was going to purchase a ST Limited

Good for you, I love my STS-SE5. All in all I've had no real problems, especially no heat issues. I'm doing the same, riding tell the snow falls! Enjoy it!

Wow! Some of the products that you folks have listed here are intreging. There's more going on than I thought. That GGTaurus is real Cool but it's no competition for :spyder2: with that price tag.

Thanks those were interesting, not quite the open air :spyder2: experience, but interesting.

No, but that's where it starts, IMO! With some more creativity and time someone is going to come up with something as "Cool" as a Spyder but just different enough to capture "our" interest. I only road 2 wheels a little but I know that the "Lean" is what it's all about and a "3 Wheel Leaner"...

Thats a good question of course. I'm right in the middle of the "Baby Boomers" years span. So there are many many more coming. Who knows Generation "x" and "y" are coming after us and by that time the Spyder will be more well known. It sounds like we will be seeing them on TV soon, some celeb...

Has anyone heard any good rumors regarding a future Spyder competitor coming to market? I can't believe the Japanese haven't jumped on it big time? It would be so good for us and the market in general. IMHO

    ready to winterize

I just picked up the Deltran Battery Tender Plus at Costco. I think it was 39.99. its supposed to be fully automatic. My question is, do I need to remove the battery to connect it to the tender or can I leave it in my :spyder2: And connect it to the tender? Thanks.

    An unsolicited call from BRP...

I'm sure some "clunk" is OK but my bike actually moves (surges), doesn't that seem a little severe? Believe me if I knew that it's not damaging anything else every time it does it, then I can accept that. I guess I need to go check out some 2 wheels and feel their "clunk".

    Winterize?

Is there something specific I need to look for in a Battery Maintainer? Amazon has them from $17 to $82. Not sure what's important.

    Winterize?

How long do you think it can sit between a start&ride. If 2 or 3 weeks passed would that really be a problem as long as you maintained the gas level? The reason I ask is that I have to believe that even here in Michigan I'll be able to ride it at least every couple of weeks if not every week...

    An unsolicited call from BRP...

Like I said, I came to accept the chattering as a quirk just like I accepted the loud clunk and surge I get when I shift into first or reverse from a cold start. I still think that "clunking" has got to be putting extra wear and tear on something. My dealer told me it was normal like some have...

    An unsolicited call from BRP...

My STS SE5 chatters when taking off from a dead stop rather forward or reverse. It stops pretty much as soon as it starts once I get rolling. I kind of accepted that as just one of its idiosyncrasies. Are you supposed to have none of that at all?

    STS Frunk removal

Oh I see, sorry wasn't thinking. It sounds like though I don't really have to remove it at all to get to the battery. But your info is helpful anyway. Thanks

    STS Frunk removal

Thanks Carl, that sounds easy enough. The videos showed it to be much more involved. The mirrors were removed as were several side panels. I much prefer your description. I'm doing it to access the battery. Thanks again.
