• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Hitch Mounted Platform

If you look at the picture of the Rivco bracket in the picture above this would normally be the way it would face if you mounted it to the hitch bar and passed your hitch ball shaft through the bracket hole. Since I also pulled the RT622 trailer at various times, I found that the addition of the...

    Hitch Mounted Platform

Correct, I have used both racks at one time or another on my Spyder BRP hitch as well as a Denray Hitch I had on my RS Venture and Goldwing GL1800. Remove the hitch ball, mount the plate, re-install the ball and it remains on the bike and does not interfere with attaching various trailers...

    Hitch Mounted Platform

Rivco Site sponsor Rivco makes two quick release trailer hitch racks that are ideal for carrying additional luggage. The rack mounting plate is placed beneath your hitch ball and the rack slides into the receiver in seconds. I have used both Rivco racks in the past and can attest to their...

    Got a strange question today.

During my first trip in the spring rain a few years back I experienced a great deal of hydroplaning for the very first time at high speed. Needless to say it was quite disconcerting. Stopped for a coffee at a service center and came out to find a fellow standing next to my Spyder in the...

    Squeal

Belt Alignment It might be your belt alignment. My belt was too close to the flange on the rear sprocket and when I accelerated hard it touched against the flange making a squealing sound. After I adjusted the belt to spec the squeal disappeared. Note: When you reverse your bike the belt tends...

    Earplugs

Custom ear plugs I went to a local hearing clinic a few years back and had the Audiologist/HIS craft me a set of custom ear plugs. She made the molds and sent them away for processing. Within a week I went back for a fitting. I wore them for a week or so at her suggestion and went back again to...

    advice

If someone wishes to put a back up monitor on their Spyder then go for it. Although the majority of people are flexible enough to be able to swivel their back or neck sufficiently to see what is behind them, there are many who do not have that level of flexibility. To me, adding a rear view...

Stopping people from messing with your spyder

Anything that deters people from touching your machine is a good idea. Covers, cable locks, rude signage, etc... If you are looking for an inexpensive option you might want to consider something like this...

    Question on removal...

Insert a small flat screw driver under an edge and pry upwards. It will pop off with surprisingly little force. It has two plastic tabs that help keep it in place. The good thing is that it can be removed and replaced many times. I notched it a bit on one edge to run a wire from my gps to my...

Questions Answered What is TBC? Have to admit, I totally borrowed that line from "Dave and Teddy's Adventures", which I have had a hoot reading over the past few years. Doesn't make any particular sense in the context that I used it in, but I always wanted to add it to a post.:opps: Is that...

I sold my 2010 RTS and trailer a while back with every intention of looking at a new RTS down the road. I have decided to "hang up the guns" with respect to Spyder ownership, and wanted to post a few comments about this forum and its members. There are numerous people on this forum who will...

My thoughts on the 2014 RT

Low End Power I had the opportunity to drive the 2014 RTS Limited in dry conditions in mid November and immediately noticed that the torque of the new engine is noticeably stronger at the lower end than previous models. The engine pulls extremely hard through all gears and from a dead stop I...

    2014 RTL SE6 Test Ride report - October 21st, 2013

Payment enough Lockhart's Odessey in Courtland Ontario called me directly to set up a test ride for me with the BRP Rep. They knew I would be very interested in this opportunity and I appreciated this offer. So, in short, I considered this invite to be a real bonus for a Spyderlover. I sold...

    2014 RTL SE6 Test Ride report - October 21st, 2013

Seat and Floorboards The seat on my tester was what BRP describe in their literature as being their ultra comfort touring saddle with hardware hook up for the optional driver backrest. I really do not know if the seat on the tester was their "Comfort Seat", even though the rep indicated that to...
