• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I had some of that analytical acumen once and antibiotics cleared it right up!

    Rain prep

I have found that in a torrential downpour you have to be going a certain speed for water to blow up and off the windscreen. If you are going 30 mph, best be looking over the windshield. I ride with an open face helmet and wear glasses (usually sun glasses) and have to take them off and squint...

    Thought I would share this...

I am not an expert on the warranties but a 2008 seems a bit long in the tooth to still be covered by any warranty.

    Laser Alignment

I know a lot has been said about laser alignment. I have a 2010 Spyder RT. The factory performed an alignment on this vehicle but as I learned, the method used in 2010 was not really satisfactory. I also learned that a laser alignment can show this easily and that the person doing the...

    Baja Ron Sway Bar Regrets

If alignment is dealer prep, it should be done properly at a dealer's... no argument there.

    Switching from Harley to Spyder

One important issue to keep in mind if thinking about a Harley to Spyder change... if you are a REAL Harley guy, you had zillions of Harley tats, thousands of dollars in Motor Company motor clothes and wear a doo-rag. How are the real Harley guys going to look at you driving up in the...

    Is it really that small...!!

Since the ELIO has three wheels, it isn't subject to automotive safety regs. It will be registered as either a motorcycle, auto-cycle (like here in Texas) or a trike but NOT as a car. You will actually have to wear a helmet to drive one in some areas I think.

When you get the new Spyder, have all this stuff on hand and install it and you will be far ahead of the game...

    Turning the Nanny off?

Wow. Kind of surprising that we have so many folks who think they are going fast on a Spyder. If you want speed, why a Spyder? An RT? Really? And the alternative for the OP was what? An Electra Glide Rushmore? Bwhahahaha Get a sport bike if you want fast. They also have a bazillion...

    HUGGING THE CENTER LINE

I don't know about where you live but here in Texs, the center of the road is where the oil-pan drips collect. I NEVER ride right in the strip of dark goo in the center of the road. Similarly, riding in the middle will work if there are no blind curves as the guy in the dump truck will claim...

    Baja Ron Sway Bar Regrets

BRP/Can-Am already has installed an anti-sway bar and Heim (Hemi does sound better!) links. The anti-sway bar is inadequate as it is too thin and the Heim links are plastic (or something similar). What they could have done was to put a thicker anti-sway bar and metal Heim links from the...

If you went through Texas, I can imagine hydration is key. It has been pretty brutal for the past month or so. Day temps at my place are around 105 with hot wind from the south carrying a bit of humidity. Let me praise the GOOD LORD for the invention of A/C! I had to work outside a few hours...

    Can-Am License

Not sure if this has been brought up but most motorcyclists who have been riding safely for any length of time have developed situational awareness and street skills which allow them to avoid distracted cage drivers. A motorcycle course or trike course won't install these habits. As I recall...

    New SpyderLovers sponsor- Luggage Buddy

Had a similar rack when I had my Goldwing GL1500 trike. Covered the license tag and rear turn signals when loaded. Does this rack come with provision for plugging into a BRP harness and hanging the plate on the rear as well as putting turn / brake lights on? The plate on my trike was lower so...

    Certification

Kind of surprised you don't have an aux gas tank. My Goldwing trike held about 10 gallons total with an aux tank and that greatly extended seat time not to mention gave me more peace of mind where gas stations got to be far and few between. My Spyder (2010 RT) gets about 27-31 mpg and I seem...

What Replacement tires are there for front in 165/55R15?

Undisclosed handling issues were the reason the OP was asking about tires. My 2010 RT handled like a pig until I installed the BajaRon anti-sway bar AND cranked up the air suspension AND jacked preload on the front shocks all the way up. It still wallowed in turns so I bought Stage 1 Elka...

Congratulations! You might take a minute to explain what type Spyder you have and what was done that allowed you to do these mucho long rides. I have only done a 1000 mile day once on a Venture with an almost 7 gallon gas tank and that was coming home from Colorado to near San Antonio. It was...

Interesting Perception of the Spyder in the MC Community

Wille, Maybe it is important to Spyder owners to be seen as bikers but as for me, well I don't give a hoot nor do I FB or associate myself with ride groups that are comprised of a bunch of internet warriors. Next thread will be high wave vs low wave or the Harley guys won't wave at a Spyder at...
