• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Pretty Good Deal!

$7500 is a lot for a paddle shifter and a little plastic chrome and black wheels... I know the S has electronic adjust air, some extra lights, etc. but for $7500 a lot of PERSON farkles can be added. Apples and oranges are not exactly how I would describe the two models.

    What is the secret?

I had a Kawasaki Voyager XII... good for 600 mile day, a Kawasaki Nomad ... good for 400 mile days, a GL1800 good for 600 mile days, a GL1500 trike good for 450 mile days, a Royal Star Venture good for 700 mile days (did 1000 a couple times but in misery). The Nomad had ergos similar to the...

    Polaris Slingshot in Texas

I saw the pics... if you hit a deer head-on, why no frontal damage (or did I miss it) and how did the bag get zapped? We have miserable little deer here in Texas and my wife totalled a Buick when she hit one... or better said, it hit the car. I found out later that you are not supposed to...

    Polaris Slingshot in Texas

In Texas, the new autocycle designation means no special license endorsement and normal helmet rules apply which mean basically only on kids under 18. Adults don't need to wear a helmet. I don't want to start a helmet debate. Wear one if you like. I do as I took the Texas Helmet Test. The...

    Money Saving Tip

I considered calling another tow company. Google San Antonio and motorcycle towing. Most of the ads are buys with pickup trucks that don't even have a trailer. I really need to buy a different trailer. My trailer is a 3 dirt bike type and not suitable for a trike plus my ramp is a trifold and...

    Money Saving Tip

Yesterday was a comedy of errors. Went to Walgreens in San Antonio after lunch to pick up a prescription. I was going to take my 2013 CB1100A but it was HOT HOT HOT (96F) so I jumped on my 2010 Can-Am Spyder RT and pulled into their parking lot, picked up meds and went to start the bike and...

    red lights?

Don't really know. It is unlikely I will sit there and wait for a light or turn right or u-turn and find another route as suggested. I do my utmost to obey the law but this one is so stupid... well I have said enough.

    Should I Get a Spyder??

Mom is always going to think two wheels are dangerous. Might be better for go off-road with a dirt bike till skills are built then learn street awareness before venturing out on an expensive 3 wheeler. The inherent danger of riding on the road is 1. lack of skills; especially in wet or...

    Polaris Slingshot in Texas

Oh yeah... the new rules have opened the door for the Elio if/when it is produced as an autocycle here in Texas. At $6800 it would be fun to own one if the price point holds... the ELio is sort of an RT with a roof, windshield wipers and A/C. HEY Can-AM! You read that $6800 price point? hehe

    Polaris Slingshot in Texas

All the tests I have read on the Slingshot say it is hoot to drive. If I had unlimited funds, I might own one. I don't and won't. Sorry my initial post set that fella off. I didn't realize there had already been a urinary olympics on the subject. FWIW: I don't ride my Spyder so it can take...

    red lights?

Pull up to a red light in Texas. It doesn't change. You can see the road is all carved up for sensors you Spyder doesn't seem to be able to trip. I have always been told it was OK to look both ways and proceed... WRONG. Looking at the TX DPS site I saw this little nugget: No...

    Polaris Slingshot in Texas

Now LEGAL! In June, a new law from the TX Legislature put in place a vehicle class called "autocycle" which means it has 3 wheels and you don't straddle a saddle and it has a steering wheel. At the same time, they came up with a 3 wheel only motorcycle endorsement for vehicles like a Spyder...

    2011 HD Roadglide to 2015 RT-limited

Welcome to the group! Hope to see you out and about sometime. There is a pretty fair dealer in Boerne on IH10 if you weren't aware. Coyote... they also sell Yamaha bikes. I bought a Yamaha Royal Star Venture Millennium Edition from Woods in Austin back in 2000. My wife and I put 60K miles...

    7 and 1/2 HOURS for 3000 mile service on Can Am Spyder - 2014 - RT-S

The OP seems to have disappeared after taking the time to write the long complaint about that dealer up in Ohio. I would be curious as to why he didn't check reviews of that ASK place before setting up this away from home service. Google reviews...

    2011 HD Roadglide to 2015 RT-limited

Where ya'll from? Where did you buy your RT? Just curious. South Texas takes in a bit of area. I don't see many Spyders where I live.

    What to wear?

While the Carhart farmer look is kind of cool, I am not real sure two layers of that stiff brown denim would be a lot better than regular jeans if you were sliding down the interstate... I think they would give up the ghost pretty quick. I dunno for sure as I can't afford Carhart duds but that...

    What to wear?

Since it is always about 78 degrees with low humidity here in south part of the Texas Hill Country, I wear cowboy boots, jeans and a black tee shirt (I do wear a helmet). The black tee shirt is necessary to mask food stains and such. Nothing more tacky than bbq sauce or hot sauce stains on...
