• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    stale gas

I do not believe the ignition timing will be advanced any further than what you would experience from 91-92-93 octane fuel, so anything in excess of this is a waste. With the knock sensor technology, the engine will automatically adjust ignition timing and fuel delivery for the maximum power...

For continuous use something like an ethanol neutralizer or carbon cleaner is better than a stabilizer-only product. Specifically, two of the best we have tested are from Yamaha, Fuel Med RX and Engine Med RX. Fuel Med is an ethanol neutralizer & stabilizer product, Engine Med has the ethanol...

    online parts source

Yep, me too, for more than the Spyder as well! Problem is if you only need a single part like a bushing you are always going to get nicked on the shipping. Takes time to pull the part, pack it, ship it, they are not in the business to lose money. Most dealers will not charge shipping on a...

    2016's

This was my prediction, and I quote myself, "I would think the main attraction is probably going to be a variation of the F3, something along the lines of an F3 Special Edition with unique paint and accents or even an F3 Limited that comes decked-out and factory equipped with the windshield...

What Replacement tires are there for front in 165/55R15?

For what it is worth, I am running a set of Kumho Solus KH16s on my 2013 ST-S right now in the 155/60-R15 size. I just didn't know if I could fit 175s in there. The 155s are 10mm narrower than the OEM tires, but you do not notice it while riding and barely notice it looking at it, you really...

    2016's

Let's step back for a moment - all of us here are more familiar with the F3 and we know all about it, BUT........when it comes to the crowd that was on hand in Sturgis, the VAST majority of them have never seen an F3, are not familiar with it, so to them it WAS a brand new machine that was...

2016 Spyder Line up announcement at sturgis?

Yep, as BRP says, "This is the first model to be unveiled from the 2016 Can-Am Spyder model year line-up."

2016 Spyder Line up announcement at sturgis?

Well Bob, now you know how the kid feels at Christmas when he opens his big present and it isn't what he was expecting........I guess I really expected more than a sinister paint job and graphics. Hell, there isn't a piece of chrome anywhere, at a Sturgis intro? Curious. Such an opportunity...

    BRP are you listening?

OK, so maybe now is the time to bring this one up again. Back about 2004 or so when we were riding some of the Spyder prototypes and then de-briefing afterwards, I brought up the subject of the dual-sport Spyder. One with more ground clearance that could be ridden on forest roads. The Spyder...

    BRP are you listening?

Um, pay attention here y'all. He is onto something here............the F3 took us in this direction, but not far enough....

2016 Spyder Line up announcement at sturgis?

Power to weight ratio would be the issue. If it was a 600 ACE (60 HP) then it would be a smaller, lighter platform altogether. If the RS was to stay full-sized, then the 900 ACE (90 HP) would be more logical. I just don't know about the whole less expensive angle here. I don't see that as the...

I would think the main attraction is probably going to be a variation of the F3, something along the lines of an F3 Special Edition with unique paint and accents or even an F3 Limited that comes decked-out and factory equipped with the windshield, saddlebags, footboards, chrome, and maybe a...

2016 Spyder Line up announcement at sturgis?

One needs to look at this from the reality of BRP. They will A) build what they are capable of building at a profit, and B) build a unit that overcomes buyers objections. This is why the slower than expected popularity of the F3 is somewhat of a mystery. BRP surveyed and asked those who were...

    F3 Vibration

No way should you have been charged for this, it is a warranty issue, well known and documented, they were wrong to do so. You are VERY justified in complaining. A key question is if they checked the belt tension at several points of rear wheel rotation? If not then they did NOT follow the...

    F3 Vibration

If you have an F3 with what you believe is excessive belt vibrations, take it to a BRP dealer for inspection so they can document it and provide that data to BRP tech. They need the data to provide a resolution, you need to get it documented. BRP has provided much detailed information to their...

Discount Tire DOES NOT want your business

Mike, I was just trying to explain why "BRP will always recommend installing OEM tires on all Can-Am Spyder Roadsters as this has an impact on the dynamic behavior of the unit (notably, the Vehicle Stability System). " OEM tires are what the VSS is calibrated with. Sure they want us to only...

Discount Tire DOES NOT want your business

Absolutely not. Not an OEM tire anywhere, front or rear, different shocks, Ron's sway bar. It works very well, far better than stock IMO. An owner of an otherwise identical unit would likely complain that it rides stiff, but I want the damn thing to rail corners and not wander in the lane. Do I...

Do not ride on gravel roads?

Now that we have completely and totally hijacked this thread, maybe we should let it go back to the regularly scheduled programming?

    F3 Vibration

Yes, I agree. Accelerating through the 3800-4300 rpm range instead of steady-state operation at that rpm should make a difference. Anyone dissatisfied with the vibes should try that. Avoid steady operation at 3800-4300 for reduced vibration.
