• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What Dealer Offers Best Price on BEST warranty?

I've got 29 months to decide Thanks Rob, that is good info to have. I'll refer to this link a few months before my warranty expires. I hope that my bike is still good and I am also still good at that time, and would be inclined to sell a few months before the warranty expires. That would give...

    Two Limp Homes on 3-10-2016

Final Follow-up on Limp Home I've put 890 miles on my Spyder since getting it back from the dealer, and there has been no return of the LIMP HOME. I guess the problem was corroded or loose battery terminals. Thanks to all who provided advice. -Bill

Gold Wing Rider thinking about a Can Am Spyder for next bike

Three Wings Previous Owner I've had lots of bikes, including a GL1100, GL1500, and GL1800. I bought the 2004 GL1800 new in 2004, kept it 80 months and logged 78,000 miles. It was a great motorcycle. Consumer Reports is very negative about the Can-Am Spyder reliability, and so am I. Search DESS...

Killboy photo on the Dragon at Deals Gap

CC50 Good luck on the CC50. Let us know how that goes, especially the Spyder range at speed. I found one Spyder on Jason Jonas' Ridemaster, and it was listed as a 2011. I'm not good at distinguishing models, but your picture looks to me to like a 2014+. Will your ride be on Spotwalla? Be safe...

I Passed the Written and Driving Tests

I'm Skeptical Pete: Like you, I suspect most of us would not be willing to pay for the training on 3 wheels. We appear to be marginally capable and hope time in the saddle will elevate our safety and competence. I thought the instruction and street riding wisdom you and Larry delivered was...

I Passed the Written and Driving Tests

Hello Pete Tamblin!!! WOW! I recognize that name. I took the Stayin' Safe tour in October 2001 with you and Larry Grodsky. You and I rode back to Georgia together after the class, me on a red 2001 Honda VFR800. You are that Pete, aren't you? Talking about the idiocy - I got my first M/C...

    Garmin 590lm

Basecamp Options Thanks, Jay. I checked my options and already have avoidance settings for unpaved, as well as those popular items in Georgia for ferries and cable cars, etc. Garmin still sends me down unpaved roads to save a tenth of a mile, and I also have the fastest time option set...

What Dealer Offers Best Price on BEST warranty?

Local vs Phone/Email Thank you, Rob. I agree on the local/email route. I bought a new Subaru Forester 24 months ago with a 3 year 36 month warranty. With 30,500 miles on the odometer, an extended warranty will be purchased soon - 100,000 miles and 6 years or 7 years. Buying out-of-state is not...

    earbuds

LG versus Sena I am so pleased to read this comparison. I've lately been wondering about getting some helmet/audio options and maybe I'll just stick with LG and save a bundle of dollars. Thanks, Captain Jim! -Bill

    earbuds

Had forgotten I have those I got the MC5 from Amazon in May 2011 for $69.66. I prefer the LG Bluetooth to the Etymotic MC5, but looking at the Etymotic I notice they have a custom fit option. That might be a great investment if one would like to postpone hearing aids into late elderhood...

LG Works Great I bought the LG HBS-730 28 months ago. I'm surprised I haven't broken it yet by snagging one of the buds while removing a jacket or helmet. I'll just buy a newer model when that eventually happens. My recollection was that I paid around $100 for them, but when checking the Amazon...

    General ryding question

Please be careful If by highway you mean I-95, the 18-wheelers create a lot of turbulence. I was transferred from Kingston to Valley Forge in 4th quarter 1970, and I seem to remember that motorcycles were not permitted on the Garden State Parkway. If memory serves I used back roads at least on...

    Three is a Magic Number - A Rider's Blog

BMR 2016 RenoJohn seems to be the lead person for this rally. He and his helpers really do a great job and spend so much time judging bonus pictures - essentially 24 hours daily. I salute them for all their hard work and hope they don't get burned out. There are themes each year, and different...

    Three is a Magic Number - A Rider's Blog

I like motorcycle travel blogs Hey Willie, thanks for this post. I've book marked your blog and will 'RYDE' along with you. I noticed your reference to TEAM STRANGE. I did their Grand Tour of Georgia in 2012 and 2013 and didn't know it was still active, and starts on April 1. I'll sign up...
