• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sway bar - is this upgrade worth it?

When I wanted an sway bar upgrade at Lamonster they sold me on the Elka front shock upgrade vs the sway bar, at least to try that first. I was ready to add both. I have a '21 RT. They indicated I would get more benefit overall from the Elkas and in fact the added sway bar may detract a bit from...

Shifting from reverse to neutral - usually goes straight to first! Why?!

If I read correctly before on this forum the clunk you get with first or reverse shift is due to square cut gears. If true what is the advantage or disadvantage?

Shifting from reverse to neutral - usually goes straight to first! Why?!

When I pull into my garage and apply the parking brake, red light on, and tap the down shifter it goes into into neutral. This is true if I back in or drive in.

    Using maps on cell phone

Despite advice here my Samsung s9 plus still does not get bright enough to see well while moving. It’s on brightest mode. At times I prefer goggle maps for directions on my phone to my XT gps which is very bright under all conditions.

How do you dress for a ride?

We have a lot of deer as do most of you. I rode 380 mi yesterday in 90 degree weather. Full ATGATT, modular helmet, jacket, pants, light boots and . . . Alpinestar Tech Air 5 vest. It is a little warmer but not too noticeable. The optional wind wings on the RT are very functional. Plan a 2,000...

    Spare key storage.

I was going to carry my spare key in a zipped pants pocket but your idea is good as I've had that cover off, a speaker cover on my RT. Wondering the same thing.

    Why change the sway bar?

I know the original post was a 2018 but we've heard the 20-21s were better in terms of the sway bar or how much an upgraded bar would improve it. Here's my '21 RT experience. I was at Lamonster garage with the idea of upgrading the sway bar. I have already changed to Q5 tires. Both techs told me...

Aluma 638 trailer, where to place tie down points?

Thanks will check that out. Didn’t want to use tie rods either. Front wheels won’t get much pressure with soft acceleration. Hard to find anything underneath.

Aluma 638 trailer, where to place tie down points?

Opinions please: I have to take my RT somewhere first thing in morning about 150 miles. I have only tied down motorcycles so need a quick read of my tie down. I have an Aluma trailer and have looped two tie downs through rear wheel and tied off at 45 degree angle. I looped a strap through both...

    Headlight Adjustment on '21 RT

That’s it. I didn’t remove entire mirror and was able to use driver in the RT tool kit as mentioned in manual.

    Headlight Adjustment on '21 RT

I got it done but your point is well taken. May have it checked on the 3K service.

    Headlight Adjustment on '21 RT

Ok I see it now. It is almost straight down and a yellowish Phillips head, that must be it. I will wait till I can shine the lights on a wall. Thanks

    Headlight Adjustment on '21 RT

I did the test for headlights according to the manual and while I could only get back 30' not the 33' as required it looks as though the low beams are too low. I have my left mirror cover off according to the manual so I can raise my low beams more visible for daytime driving. Does this...

21 RT Ltd - what does the usb plug in glove box do?

I tried to charge my Garmin when I got my RT and after half an hour I got a fault message on the LCD. After that I used the power outlet on the right side and hard wired the Garmin. Good to know I can charge my phone though.

RT belt has very small penetration from rock

This might help a little but doesn't actually show changing belt, only adjusting tension and alignment. I believe changing belt video must be out there. Do you normally drive gravel at times or not at all? I'm having my guard installed when I have the Baja bar installed at Lamonster Garage soon...

    Armed Forces Day!

The jungle still speaks and every ride and adventure is with the memory of those who never had my opportunities in life and for those who grieved their loss. Thanks to all who have served or otherwise contributed. We’re all on the same team.

Any Suggestions on mounting Garmin XT onto '21 RT-L?

I used the videos out there to wire my XT to the right side of my 21 RT where the outlet is intended for this purpose. I used a Posi-Tap connector and left the stock connector intact. Just run the wiring down beside the steering. Pop off the right speaker cover to help visualize. Tupperware...

    Wide View Convex Side Mirrors

Added mirrors to my RT as suggested by someone here and for sure they are essential. The stock mirrors can partly serve as a blind spot mirror. I was concerned that I might not like the round mirrors I chose but they seem to work really well. I used the Lamonster cuffs with the elbow piece to...
