• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Extended Warranty Purchasing Advice Needed

It definitely is a crap shoot. But IMHO, $671 is a small price to pay for peace of mind. That said, I second the Thomas Palmer from iMotorsport suggestion. It's quick and painless, "easy peasy lemon squeasy".

Is the General Altimax RT45 Directional or Non Directional?

I would definitely run a directional tire in the rear. My next rear tire would probably be like the Michelin Cross Climate 2, if they make the correct size (haven't researched it yet), only because I've read great reviews about them. Pricey, like most Michelin offerings, but you get what you...

Difficulty with fixed push pins on bottom of top side panel of 2014 RTL - any ideas?

Like most body panels, it's easier to take them off than it is to put them back in. My trick to reinstall that particular panel is to (1) lube the pin first, and then (2) slightly flex the panel inward while you push the bottom of the panel in first. Good luck !!

    Riders Etiquette, "The Salute"

No, not really. Only because I give them a certain amount of time and distance, which is not a lot. I don't stare at them from the time I see them to the time they pass me, if that's you're inferring. But to each their own ....

    Wisecracks about Spyder

I've been lucky that all of the encounters I've had with people asking about our RTL have been very positive. If someone DOES say something negative, I would reply with, "I also have a Harley with 2 wheels, if that's okay with you".

New signature - now map shows States visited on Spyder!

And here I thought the map was for all the states I've been to, LOL.

I hate Squealing Brakes - any suggestions to stop them squealing?

I've never heard of this Permatex product either, so I decided to give it a try on my g/f's son's Mazda CX-5 when we replaced the front pads and rotors. I greased the caliper slide pins and applied a layer on the back of the pads. So far, no squealing, so ....

    Shout out to Bajaron

In Ron We Trust. But seriously, this is good to hear. I just LOVE his swaybars. He and Lamont really know how to treat their customers ....

Is that darn clunk normal? Video explanation!

I'm lucky that my driveway has a slight slope to the street. I eliminate the Neutral to Reverse clunk by pushing my Spyder 3 feet out the garage door and let the slope take me to the street. I only deal with the Neutral to First clunk then ....

This can be the TIME of your LIFE!

I've been to Europe 3 times (Germany, England, Ireland, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium) and each time has been very memorable. I'd love to ship my Spyder over there, take a month off and just visit places like Spain, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Greece .... countries I've never been.

The Truth about LED bulbs - Don't Buy LED Bulbs Before Watching This!

The only LEDs I would buy are from Lamonster or Spyderpops, only because those guys have field tested the stuff they sell. I've had good luck with all the LEDs I've installed from them. Plus, Lamonster gives out free candy, LOL.

    Riders Etiquette, "The Salute"

I raise my hands in the air, and wave them like I just don't care. LOL But seriously, I usually wait for the other rider to wave. If they wave, I give the open palm or the "hang loose" sign, depending on whatever I feel like doing. If I see another Spyder, I initiate the wave similar to when...

Wife's New to her Spyder! Tips welcome !

In addition to a Three Wheel Course, I highly suggest installing a Baja Ron swaybar, if it doesn't have one already installed. I had already put about 500 miles on it, and I just couldn't "lighten my grip" and adjust as many would suggest to make it more stable. Also, crosswinds on windy days...

Opinions on un-weighting front suspension during Winter storage?

I say, do whatever you think makes you sleep better at night. I also say, your Spyder doesn't really weigh all that much and doing all that extra stuff is needless if it's only going to be stored a couple of months, so ....

Anyone using these OEM Oil drain plugs with hex head?

"404 Error - Page Not Found" I bought these Magnetic Drain Plugs from www.lamonstergarage.com They work great so far. I believe the trick is NOT to use "gorilla torque". Plus, Lamont seems like a standup guy and wouldn't sell any jenky merchandise he doesn't believe in.

You must be a Spyder lover!

You *might* be a Spyder lover if you spell words like "ride", "trike", "rider" with a "y" instead of an "i", and not get all bent out of shape because you are a stickler for grammar and spelling. Also, I *might* be a Spyder lover if I tend to reach for the keys of our RT-L more often than I do...

Out on a ride and lost power between engine and the belt

That's how I took it. I believe the engine was still making power, but there was little or no forward propulsion. Which leads me to believe that the sprocket is toast ........ which can be a good thing since it's an easier fix than some serious engine issues.
