• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fun Road Signs seen in Nevada

While living in that motel in Austin, we often hear sonic booms from fighter jets whose pilots felt the need. The need ?? FOR SPEED, OW !!!!

Fun Road Signs seen in Nevada

My g/f's parents used to own a motel in Austin, a town smack dab in the middle of the state. I-50 cuts through NV and is the Main Street of this town. We used to go get supplies in Fallon, a town 110 miles away. The Loneliest Road is made for speed freaks, because it is straight as an arrow...

    Let's talk cups

This is what I use. It’s classy, easy to use, and keeps drinks cold. I’ve had ice last a whole day, even during some wicked hot rides. It’s expensive, but worth it...

    Tire pressures in hot weather

I have to agree with you, Lew. Cars and bikes tend to run a bit quicker when it's colder because the air is MORE dense. And a baseball that is hit when it's in the 90s will travel just a bit further than when it's hit in the 40s. Why ?? Because it is less dense.

Considering a New exhaust with just a bit more rumble - any suggestions?

LOVE my RLS cat delete and Two Brothers Racing exhaust. But that combination might be a bit loud for your application ....

    First Spyder ---- Rant

Is your story going to be a made-for-TV movie ?? Asking for a friend .... :ohyea: :joke:

Saying good bye to my Spyder

I think you'll be back on a Spyder sooner than you think. IMHO, SxS are even less "practical", in that you really can't take it on the road, and the majority of the time, that's where people are most likely to congregate. I've actually thought about getting a Can-Am Maverick 2-seater, but...

Baja Ron bar or Cat delete for 2020 RTL?

I added the BR swaybar first, then 2 years later, the RLS cat delete. Honestly, I think this is the preferred order ....

Spyder surgery - one less thing to remove for servicing!

No, the third guy had enough courage (or craziness ........ you decide) to hold that panel while the wrench mechanic had a power tool in his hands capable of slicing your fingers clean off. As far as "pros", I'm still learning a great deal from you guys. That is why I look forward and enjoy...

Spyder surgery - one less thing to remove for servicing!

What is this "useless panel" you speak of, Lew ?? Mine doesn't have it, so your mod doesn't apply to me ........ although the guy who took the pic sure knows what the hell he was doing to compose such a lovely, yet informative, picture. BTW, good ride today. Thanks for giving me some of your...

Back and neck pain after Ultimate seat - anyone else? Fix?

I actually have one. I still get occasional hot spots though. It's either I don't have it adjusted quite right with the amount of air needed to make it comfortable, or I just don't have enough fat on my a**, lol.

A good write up in Rider online Magazine

Awesome, can't wait !! It's still mind-boggling to see so few Spyders in Reno/Sparks. I can count the number of the ones I see in a week with the fingers of one hand. And sometimes, I don't see any at all.

Back and neck pain after Ultimate seat - anyone else? Fix?

I've been so, SO tempted in purchasing an Ultimate seat ever since I got my bike 2 years ago. But it's just a little too rich for my taste. Plus, I have a vacation in Hawaii planned and would rather spend the money on a sport fishing trip for tuna, mahi or yup, even a marlin !!

    Look what I got today

Gosh, I LOVE Tire Rack. I'm lucky that they have a YOUUUUUUGE warehouse about 25 miles from where I live. I usually save on shipping costs by picking all my tires up from there.

A good write up in Rider online Magazine

Honestly, I *believe* that Spyders will increase in popularity as fuel prices continue to skyrocket out of control. Which could be a good thing, or a bad thing. I kind of like having a unique vehicle to tool around in, because I don't see many Can-Ams in my neck of the woods.

    Shout out to Lamonster Garage

I have to agree that Lamonster is an AWESOME vendor. Every item I've ordered from them has been flawless; i.e. they never have shipped me the wrong part, and best of all, there's always a surprise (candy, cleaning items, etc.) in every package that's shipped. In addition, their customer...

To kill or not to kill (switch), that is the question

I don't usually deal with the kill switch when turning my Spyder on and off. It's all done by the ignition key. However, I use the switch when I'm on my Harley. Don't rightly know why really. But the (possible) eventual failure of the kill switch from countless movements have me thinking...

Tired of the sissy wave by other riders

Oh, and when I'm stopped at a red light, if I see a driver in a car wave or give me the thumbs up because I'm on the Spyder (which happens more than times than I can remember), I usually give the Hawaiian "Hang Loose" sign as shown in my sig pic.

Tired of the sissy wave by other riders

Me ?? I usually wait for the other rider to wave. And when they do, I usually give an open palm greeting in the wind, which means I don't do the traditional "2-fingers down" or "3-fingers down" or "Peace Sign" or "Middle Finger Salute" or whatever is en vogue these days. And if they don't...
