• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2010 RT S Lumpy Idle

I worked on the bike today installing the heat scoops https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?105715-Air-Scoops&p=1427581#post1427581 and while I had the panels off, I looked at the vacuum hoses to see what they looked like. I pinched one and didn't see any cracking, I may still go...

Are the Heat Recall Air Scoops still available?

Scoops installed, a few lessons learned to pass along Today was the day I installed the scoops. Doc's instructions were very helpful but I found after some trial and error that there were some tricks that made the second side go better than the first. So to help anyone that tries this...

    2010 RT S Lumpy Idle

I've had this bike for about a year and a half and have put probably 3-4k miles on it. It's never had what I would consider a really smooth idle, I've always chocked that up to it being a V twin. Lately though I've noticed it seems to be idling a bit rougher, I can detect a miss every 5-10...

Are the Heat Recall Air Scoops still available?

    Thanks, Doc already sent them.

Are the Heat Recall Air Scoops still available?

Got the two PDF's from Doc this morning. One has a step by step with detailed photos and steps to take. I had managed to find the original set of instructions for the '13 heat modification, but they were so poor it was difficult to make sense of what each step was. Hats off to Doc, I owe him...

Who Rides a Spyder to Work?

Mine is parked outside right now. Was in the 40's this morning, will probably get to the 50's. Wore the winter jacket and was fine. I favor it more than then my other ride, a Silverwing when its cold out. It just puts out more heat and has better shielding from the wind. When it gets warm...

Are the Heat Recall Air Scoops still available?

I ordered a set and they came today. Can someone shoot me a link or email me the instructions since none come in the box. Thanks, Bob

    Tried FOBO...didn't like it

My cheapo system is still working fine after a year. No issues yet. Interesting to watch the temps (which I can do because the display is always visible, not in an app) go up as the tires warm up. Especially true in the summer as the pressure in the tires can go up 4-6 psi as the tires get...

RYKER 600cc vs 900cc TOP speed and acceleration

You can doubt all you want. In his video, 0-100 KM or 0 to 62 MPH was 8.6 seconds for the 900. The Silverwing will do 0-60 in 8. They can be modified to have faster acceleration if you change out the variator rollers but top speed will go down. Silverwing engine is rated at about 50hp, but...

RYKER 600cc vs 900cc TOP speed and acceleration

My Silverwing scooter is faster than the 900 Ryker.

    Millennials and Harley Davidson

I agree with that theory but I also think that Millennials as a group are more risk averse then older generations. Not that there arent riders in that age group, but as a whole I think they view riding bikes as something too risky to do...

Is a 2010 RS a good first Spyder?

Looks like a nice bike. Has a custom seat and that back box isn't standard either. Also has floorboards, a nice touch. Real pretty blue. Do run a vin check on it to verify mileage and any potential issues. Probably good to have the bike looked over by an independent mechanic. Take a good...

Struggling...picked out an Indian Scout and now considering Ryker Rally

I've got two other bikes in the garage besides the RT. The other day I was at the dealer who sells both Can Am's and Indians and I sat on the new Ryker as well as a couple of the scouts. I thought the Ryker was a neat little bike but I didn't find the seat all day comfortable and I honestly...

    Trailer Project for a buddy...

Looks good to me. I assume that heater is vent free? Dont those types of trailers come with one or two roof vents? If not you could add one, which would help if for some reason he wanted to be inside it while the doors were closed and it was running . For sure I would add in a CO detector...

    Motorhome-Truck-Spyder

That last picture you posted shows where the bike and lift are sitting in the bed better than the previous ones posted did. The balance point of an RT is roughly where the front drivers peg is mounted. From the photo it looks like the balance point of the spyder is behind the the rear wheel by...

    Motorhome-Truck-Spyder

First of all, I appreciate the thought and engineering that went in to putting this together. But I gotta wonder how well that truck will ride with that much weight behind the rear wheels. Ideally, the weight should be between the front and rear wheels for the best handling. In this case...

    driver floor boards?

All the RT's can have floorboards. I'm sorta surprised that one of the newer machines came with pegs (SE6). I DIY'd a set this last year and I would never go back to the pegs, so much more comfortable to ride when you can move your feet around.

    Anyone Ever Consider a Scooter?

I would love to be able to ride one of those some day. I would think its much more stable than the 2 wheel versions. Occasionally they pop up used on the Local CL, but so far I have no complaints with the Silverwing.

    Anyone Ever Consider a Scooter?

I have a Silverwing which is Honda's maxi scoot, 600cc and very similar to the Burgman. Very easy bike to ride, lots of storage under the seat and I have a box on the back as well. In terms of reliability, the Honda is considered the more reliable of all that size scoots, the Burgman has a...

Lifting my 2012 RT? Part Two

I got one of them last year and used it to work on my RT. Since then it has been sitting. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed it pissed all its oil on the floor. You might want to spend a few more bucks and get something better or at least buy their warranty. QC on the thing left a lot to be...
