• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

10th Anniversary of the Spyder June 2,3,4th 2017

Hi Roger, We are going on the Spyder and will be on the T-Can so guess we will be going right past your neck of the woods. We will stay on it through Thunder Bay, The Sault and Sudbury, North Bay, Ottawa and then go west and south of Montreal on 30 and then east on 20 and we are staying at the...

On the occasion of my 59th...

Welcome Richard, As has been said, just watch out for rocks getting into the sprocket/belt. It might be worth while getting the after market belt guard to help prevent that. The Spyder will definitely make your life easier getting up and down your canyon road. I've actually been following...

10th Anniversary of the Spyder June 2,3,4th 2017

Roger, After the homecoming event my wife and I are planning to go around the Gaspe Peninsula and into NB before heading back toward home back along the Gaspe but in the westward direction. Gary

    road maps

We still carry paper maps and I like to refer to them in the evening during long trips. I find it helps keep things in proportion and perspective. I also like to plan trips with paper maps because they give me the bigger picture. We do carry a GPS and I do find them helpful going through busy...

Congrats Ann. I'm also hoping to see the 200,000 on the same Spyder and I'm also guessing it won't take another 3 yrs 5 months. Gary

If "Real People" Commercials Were Real Life

Have to agree. My wife and I comment on these whenever we see them. Actually find them annoying. Don't they say something like "these are real people, not actors". Shouldn't someone tell actors that they are not real people. Maybe they are just a reasonable facsimile of real people. There are a...

Adventures in Windshield Control Arm Replacment

Etching looks terrific. Nice job to whomever did it. The blacked out looks great too especially on the white. I know exactly how you discovered that top actually means top near windshield and not just facing up. But it was an easy fix compared to the other problems. The pencil iron...

Rear tire replacement and alignment update and thanks Joe Meyer

I had posted another thread a few days ago about a small problem I had with putting my rear wheel back on following replacement of the tire. New General Altimax now. Firstly thanks to all that responded with tips. Actually that small problem went away quickly but the real challenge was getting...

    Let the farkling begin......

[ It's a bit of a job getting the mirrors apart, but I didn't breat any of the tabs. Ray Ya, I just broke one of those tabs or at least I think it must have been me unless it was damaged from before. I bought a replacement and a spare for the right side. Damn things are expensive. Those...

Got rid of the Crapenda (Kenda) front tires

Also just changed over to ContinentalContiProContact but in the 175/55R15 size fronts last week and just finished putting on a General Altimax in the rear on the weekend. Only had it out in our neighbourhood trying to get the belt alignment correct but everything felt really good. Time to get...

Ongoing saga of that frunk piece...

Yes it can be finicky. I find it easier to line the push pin hole up first. Then it does require a little flexing of the tabs but they should line up and fit in. I always had more trouble if I tried to put the tabs in first. Gary

Sounds good. Try to post some pics when done. Was nice here to the south of you too until it rained mid afternoon but it is sunny again now. You ever get down to the Penticton area? Gary

    Worried

Neil, I can understand where you might get a bad impression when reading about some problems that some folks have had. But as others have said, people don't usually come on here to talk about how nothing bad ever happens on their trips. I would bet very large amounts of money that there are far...

    Stupid trailer tricks . . .

Patti, really sorry to hear about and see the results. I completely understand why you want to get it fixed as it would be a constant reminder of the mishap. In 2005 we went to Palm Dessert to meet some friends on our brand new Yamaha Venture. Second day we went for a ride and got into a gravel...

    Why you need KOTT grills

In my opinion, it is mostly the appearance that is different. I can't remember about cost but that should be easy to determine by going to Can Am Spyder Accessories which is Pierre and Spyderpops whose site you can find here as a sponsor. As far as I know, they are mounted the same way and...

Putting rear wheel back on after tire change question

Mike, I put tape on the blocks before I ever loosened the rear axel when I started. They weren't loose when I started to take the wheel off. The tape was just to keep the blocks from falling off or moving and hence loosing the original adjustment. Trust me, they weren't loose and I was not...

Putting rear wheel back on after tire change question

Mike, I'm a little confused so bear with me. I was happy with the tension and alignment before I took the wheel off to have the tire replaced. I'm past that and putting it all back together. I taped over them to ensure the blocks wouldn't fall off and the adjustment bolts wouldn't move. So now I...
