• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Car Tires and Insurance

The Kenda is in actuality a car tire already. They just call it a "bike tire". My answer would be no. With as many folks as there are that have put other car tires on their Spyder I just can't see a problem and I'm never going to worry about it but that's just my opinion. Gary

Putting rear wheel back on after tire change question

2014 RTS I replaced my rear tire and am putting the thing back together. I have the tire bolted on, cotter pin in and shock bolt back in. I had used tape on the adjustment blocks to try and make sure they didn't move out of adjustment. I had pushed the tire forward while tightening the nuts to...

Those that have replace your rear tire on your RT?

My CanAm dealer is quite large for up here in western Canada and sell all kinds of CanAm equipment. They WILL do tires other than Kenda on Spyders. It is definitely a dealer decision from what I can see. Gary

    Front Tires Thoughts

I opted for the Continental ContiProContact in 175/55R15 for our 2014 RTS. They went back on our Spyder fine but I have not had it out yet because waiting for the weather to improve a little more. Gary

2013 RTL vs 2015 RTL which to buy

This is correct but it fluctuates daily. Several years ago the Canadian dollar was worth more than the US dollar. But it really isn't about currency rates or how close you are to the border. In Canada bikes and most cars/trucks just cost more and therefore used bikes and Spyders cost more too...

2013 RTL vs 2015 RTL which to buy

Mike, Keeping in mind that our Canadian prices are always higher than what our American friends pay, my gut feel is that the 13 for 20 thousand is too high. Even the 15 might be a bit high but apples to apples even assuming the prices are both good, Id go for the 15. The 15 with the upgrades is...

    Looking for your thoughts.....

Perhaps on a black Spyder/Wing etc but not sure I would want to do that with another colour. To me it would stand out too much for my personal taste. Gary

Another Spyder accident - distracted driving

I agree with everything you say about not being able to avoid the IDIOTS out there. I think the important realization is that we ride motorcycles which is a risky pleasure. If you ride you should have already accepted the fact that we are at greater risk than some other activities. We can't...

Another Spyder accident - distracted driving

Looking at the pictures, it appears that first contact with the Spyder was back some distance. I think the fact that the Spyder was not right behind the vehicle in front of him when hit also played a part in him not being seriously injured. If I'm right, the "squish factor" might have been much...

    BRP Comfort Seat

I believe, but stand to be corrected, that there were different back rests depending on which model of BRP seat that you have. I seem to remember that some people were sold the wrong back rest suggesting there is a difference. I don't know if that is still possible. Others will surely jump in if...

10th Anniversary of the Spyder June 2,3,4th 2017

The GST (Federal Government Sales Tax) is 5% and the QST (Quebec Sales Tax) is 9.975% which totals 14.975%. I'm not sure what is 17%? Each province can set their own Provincial Sales Tax. The GST is 5% across the board. The only exception is that a few provinces use what is referred to as HST...

    Pizza...

While you were in Maui, did you happen to try 'Mamma's Fish House' on the north shore. Pretty pricey but the food and service were amazing (to us). Others may feel differently. The seafood really is fresh caught every day. I can't remember the names of some of the other places we ate but we were...

    Safety feature....use it!

I love the tongue-in-cheek sarcasm. And ya, not only are the signals not used but I've discovered that stopping at stop signs and even red lights is only a suggestion. In fact stopping for one of those things might end up causing you to get rear ended. Gary
