• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New Full-Size Brake Pedal

Big Bike Parts just came out with a full-size brake pedal for the Spyder. I installed it on my RT and am very pleased. It feels much more secure to have the pedal extend more than halfway across my foot. A bonus is that it seems like you don't have to press as hard to get strong braking when...

How do you remove the radio antena?

Another option is to put a small hole in the cover for the antenna. My cover already had a hole. I would not want to have to remove and replace the antenna every time I cover the Spyder.

    Stebel horn

Spyderpops installed one on my RT at Spyderfest last year. After the installation, I asked if he used the relay. He had not. He said he has installed several that way with no problems. Mine has worked fine, but if I had known at the beginning of the installation, I would have asked him to...

    two up Finally

For me, the key was time in the saddle. I'm a long-time two wheeler (50+ years) and when I first rode the Spyder I was horrified. I thought it was the most unstable, unsafe vehicle I'd ever been on or in. My first time on the highway was truly frightening. After some time, I discovered that...

    Oil Level

A Related Question We are told in order to check the oil level accurately, we have to make sure the engine gets hot, then shut it off, give it a few minutes to drain into the oil pan, then check the level. Why not just check the level when the engine is cold? Checking it cold should give the...

hope you enjoy this as much as i did

A great performance of one of the greatest songs ever written. As we used to say in the Navy, Out-____ing-standing!

    Stebel or Bad Boy Horn

At Spyderfest last year, Spyder Pops installed a Bad Boy on my RT on the left side and it was very quick - no problem at all. He does not use a relay and said he has had no problems. It's been almost a year and mine has worked great. I don't know the details of how it was mounted.

Did a little "Urban Renewal" today

This brings back memories of my shipboard firefighting training in the Navy. It was hard work, but a lot of fun.

    Spyder Cruise Excusion

Sounds like a great idea, but there is some age discrimination. The ad says you have to be between 25 and 70. I'm 71, but I haven't told my RT. It still loves me. :roflblack:

    DFW to Spyderfest

We decided on a cruise this year instead of Spyderfest, but had a blast last year. Welcome to Spyder land. I have a 2014 RTL and look forward to meeting you sometime.

    Funny picture thread

Bob said: "It's funny that you mention this... I just found some REALLY good heavy metal from Europe." That's not surprising because that's where heavy metal started - England, to be exact.

OFFICIAL SPYDERFEST POST -- FROM MOGANG

We won't make it to Springfield this year. We decided to take a cruise this year instead. I'm looking forward to the cruise, but will miss Spyderfest. We both had a blast last year.

    Help with new RT

Right after I bought my 2014 RT, I thought I'd made a terrible mistake. I'd ridden two-wheelers for 50+ years, but this thing really scared me. It felt very unstable and hard to control. On one 20 mile trip on an uneven road, I actually had to stop after about 10 miles to rest and work up...

    How does it work?

:agree: Very true. I lived in Amarillo for several years. I was a paramedic there and my wife and I were house parents at a group home for mentally challenged adults. We still visit family there a couple of times a year. Be sure to give us a report on your trip to the Hill Country.

    How does it work?

Texas Geography Just FYI: Austin and San Antonio are referred to as being in Central Texas. West of there (Leakey, Camp Wood...where the Twisted Sisters are) is called the Texas Hill Country. You have to go further South to get to South Texas - McAllen, Harlingen, Brownsville, etc. I just...

    Extended Window Cleaning

You may not have seen the F4 Customs windshield demonstration using steel wool. The hard coat on their windshields makes it quite safe to use a paper towel. Don makes them and owns the company and it's what he recommends (paper towels NOT steel wool). I've been using Windex and paper towels...

    Thinking of an Ultimate Seat

I don't remember the details, but there was some kind of Spyderfest special last year. I know it included free installation and also had something else like a free backrest or discounted price or something. They will ship your original seat home for you at no cost. I wanted one, but had...
