• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Feel weird on right foot, when step on the brake while turning, is anything wrong?

My question would be: WHY are you even having to brake hard in the middle of sharp turns in the first place? Seems to me that's only complicating things and likely asking for trouble. If you're approaching your corners so "hot" (too fast) that you need to jump hard on the brakes in mid-turn...

My first spyder and inexperienced driver

First of all, WELCOME to the world of Spyders. My thoughts/reflections as a new owner a couple of years back: Number one rule - RELAX a bit. Stay alert, but don't try to over-concentrate on every little thing, and don't hold your body rigid, or your grip too tight. Both you and your Spyder are...

    Seat height question - F3L 2017

RICZ, as well as appreciating your input posts, I always enjoy your avatar, and seeing what you grew up riding. So, in return, here's what I started out on, rather illegally at age 13, and also totally in breach of my parents' orders that I not buy it (kept it hidden for several months in a...

    Seat height question - F3L 2017

Not sure I have an answer for that Pete. There's no way (no valve) for me to adjust on the F3L. My system does that by itself, so my seat is where it is, regardless. I measured the new seat at 29", but it is built up probably 2-1/2" above stock, at least. I know my Ultimate was close to 1" above...

Metal Clunk sound when hitting a hole with rear wheel

About that 'clunking' noise ... My experience has been slightly different (on the 2017 F3L)... I recall hitting unavoidable potholes with the rear wheel twice, with my passenger on board. Each time, there was a noticeable, jarring, heavy bump, which we both felt, and muttered "OUCH"! Don't...

    Seat height question - F3L 2017

Thanks very much RICZ; helps me a lot. Looks like my new seat is going to be 29" above the floor, and distance from back of gas cap to rear of seat about 25-3/4" to 26". So, I seem to be right on with distance from bars, and just slightly higher up, which was expected. I got in a 2-hour test...

    Seat height question - F3L 2017

Amen, Brother. Appreciate the encouragement. See my note to RICZ, below, for progress report.

    Seat height question - F3L 2017

RICZ, thanks for the input. Measurements in inches is fine. I'm currently having a custom seat made up for me. Man does very nice work: "A Stitch on Time", St. Petersburg, FL. Main problem for me has been sciatic pain while ryding, aches in my right knee and soreness in pelvic area. We think we...

    Seat height question - F3L 2017

Anyone out there ryding a 2017 F3L with a stock seat? Question: with your Spyder on level ground, if you were to place a spirit level across your driver seat, what would the measurement be from ground up to underside of level? In other words, what is your seat height off the ground? Second...

    2019 F3L arrived today

Welcome to the F3L fun club!!! A delight to be on; really saddening when it comes time (you have) to get off. But, then, there's always tomorrow, and do it all over again. Really hate having to say "good night" to mine. Hope your experiences are the same.

Looking for a GO PRO camera to recommend for my 2011 RT

Thanks for the post... I'm another Ontario ryder, with a 2017 F3L. When I bought my Spyder, BRP gave me a small Cyclops video cam as a premium (incentive) to buy. Small, difficult to use, no real instructions. Tried it and gave up. Last fall, I bought a GoPro Hero 7 Black, mostly because it now...

    Trailering Front Attach

Revalden, hate to admit/recall it, but I'm guilty of that one too - not ensuring that the nut & bolt on the ball on my draw bar was drawn up tight. In my case, the nut dropped off the bolt, the ball popped out of the draw bar (still locked in the jaw of the coupler), the trailer began to sway...

    Trailering Front Attach

FWIW: some thoughts on trailering... and use of tie-downs FWIW, I do some extensive trailering of my Spyder... over 4000/5000 miles each year. Mostly, this is the round trip from Ontario to Florida and back, plus a few other short hauls. Sometimes, it's trailering one of my boats, or a utility...

This is a crazy question, fishing for opinions

I subscribe to the answers of both seaweed and Edmat, and also BajaRon/pegasus1300. If you are astride your machine (i.e., one leg on each side of your motive power plant), you are a rider, just as if you are on a horse. That's where the term originated. If you're in a buggy, wagon or sleigh...

    Manually downshifting SE6 ?

I have had my 2017 F3L for 2-1/2 years now (15,000 miles), and have consistently manually down-shifted (engine-braked) since the very beginning. An old habit left over from standard-shift sports car driving. My instincts (sound and feel) have always 'urged' me to manually down shift somewhat in...

Corbin Seat on F3 T or Limited with top case/trunk

hey Bubalub: You're in Brooksville, I'm in Leesburg; we're only an hour apart. I have an Ultimate seat on my 2017 F3L. If you want to meet up, you can see what it looks like, even sit in it, try it out. If you like it, you can buy and pick up a new one at Ultimate's outlet in Daytona, only 3...

    Why get a motorcycle?

Pete, it's not so much a 'technique' issue as it is a matter of 'performance'; the Spyder has never yet let me down, whereas .......

    Why get a motorcycle?

OH Hell, on second thought... ... enough of the polite, thoughtful answers... at my advanced age, I'll just say that riding my Spyder is the best (maybe the only) available alternative orgasmic experience to sex ... and often better!!!

    Why get a motorcycle?

Hard to beat that reasoning; works for me, too. I could only add that I grew up (well, maybe?) owning and enjoying a series of sports cars, learning to downshift, many hours spent practicing cornering/drifting through twisty back roads. Had a few two-wheelers mixed in here and there, including...
