• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Two great days of ryding in VA/TN/NC ... hoping for more

I was dreaming of ryding my Spyder all the way from Peterborough, ON, to Central FL, this year, but it just got too cold before I could set out on Mon., Oct. 29. It snowed on the Sat./Sun., so I wound up hauling by trailer again, with stops planned along the way to get in some hills, twisties...

    Sirius XM Channel Tuning

Wondering whether I have an alternate solution that will work??? When I bought my 2017 F3L last year, I wanted to be able to hear the radio in my helmet, which I have equipped with Sena SMH10. I'm paired to my wife's helmet, my Zumo amd my cell phone (with 1 spare left). I was then told that...

    A Thread Worth Responding To

Most memorable meals... I have to confess that I have had many delightful repasts over my lifetime. My wife is fond of pointing out that, in looking at my body, I don't appear to have gone hungry for much of it; shedding weight is often a struggle. In answer to the question, two instances stand...

My Spyder ryde from a different view

Very interesting, as well as entertaining. You use the term "following" to describe the activity of the drone as it films you as you ride the Spyder through the countryside... yet, in the positional relationship between the drone and the bike, it is not always, or constantly, behind you...

    Rattling side mirror

source of F3L mirror rattles I'm coming to the point where I now believe there are TWO faults or TWO sources that cause rattling mirrors on our F3L's. I was one of those who first tried the 'quick fix' solution with the double-sided tape. I had issues with both of my mirrors rattling. The tape...

Indeed, I was aware of the beauty of the Cherohala, and perhaps passed up something I should have done. I was anxious to get to FL, so didn't spend the additional time on the Skyway last year. I did do several great portions of the routes you mention - 28, 129 (Dragon, Fontana) back through...

JBIM, I have driven the Interstates, almost all of them (81, 95, 77, 79, 75), between Ontario and FL over the past 6 years, both ways, and other inter-connecting roads as well. Together with my SO, we have often done this non-stop, switching off every few hours, making the full trip...

Appreciate the suggestions on interesting roads from Cherokee south; I'll have a look at 441 and 28. I'm very interested to learn about nice, scenic routes between Asheville and the GA/FL border. Kind of thinking of heading generally in the direction of Augusta, Valdosta, but am free to wander...

Thanks, Lew. I was able to ride 'Tail of the Dragon" last fall while trailering my Spyder to FL. Stopped in Maggie Valley overnight; rode locally a piece of the Blue Ridge and up into the Smokies. Next morning, I rode over to Deal's Gap, did the Dragon and came back through Cherokee (passed up...

Thanks Bob; appreciate your wise comments. I'm hoping not to repeat mistakes I made almost 40 years ago when I headed into northern Italy and then the French Alps wearing not much more than a thin leather jacket with no zips, only a couple of failing buttons and one pair of jeans. Freezing rain...

Thanks Marr; unfortunately, I can't leave prior to Oct. 24/25, so will regrettably have to pass on Spyder Adventures. Even as it is, I have moved my departure up from the original plan of 6 Nov. Would love to go early in Oct., but not possible this year.

This fall, rather than dragging my F3L Spyder to FL from Ontario on a trailer behind my Jeep, I am thinking of ryding it down. It will be a challenge, but I think it's still do-able, for me, at 77. I don't have to hurry, and I really prefer the scenic back roads while avoiding the Interstate. My...
