• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HowTo: Installed Cargo Net on 2020 RTL

Dust primarily all inside of both side cases. I did ride in light rain a couple of weeks ago (roads were fairly wet) and a small mount of water got into the inside of the side case door on the right side. Haven't ridden in a frog choker yet. If dust can penetrate so will water mist and if I...

HowTo: Installed Cargo Net on 2020 RTL

My next mod is to see about getting a better seal on my side case lids - they get very dirty inside. I have to clean them every time I wash the bike. I have to put everything in plastic bags to keep them clean from all the dust that finds its way inside. Amazed at how dirty these bikes get.

HowTo: Keeping Sena and Phone charged.

I think he meant that he puts the usb battery pack in his jacket pocket. I do this as well - I run a coiled usb cable from the battery pack (that is in my jacket pocket) to my sena headset. Only issue is on those really hot summer days when I wear a very light jacket with no pockets. But, you...

    2020-21 RT Fog Lights

Looks great. Any chance you might be able to sell just the brackets and screws at some point? Looks like a great way to mount a GoPro or similar camera. I have been considering this location or the upper deflector for a camera but have been hesitant due to having to make a bracket.

Having a problem getting registered in California.

Some things never change ..... Back in the early 70s, I had a high school job in an auto parts store/speed shop. One of the questions we sometimes had to ask when someone was buying a particular part was if the vehicle was a "California car" because of the emissions controls that were only put...

Having a problem getting registered in California.

Odd that my 2020 RT includes California on the sticker but your 2021 does not. Same 0.8 HC+NOx value.

Suggestions for mounting a camera - 2020 RT

Using a ram ball mount similar to yours, I am thinking about attaching it to one of the upper fairing deflectors (left or right side) and drilling a hole directly into the upper tupperware for the power. That deflector looks like it can be replaced easily (and inexpensively) so I might be...

    Problem with feral cats

Buy a weatherproof radio and put it on or near your Spyders. Turn the volume up enough to bother them but not so loud that it is annoying you. I also remember seeing some mats you could buy that would give a shock to a cat when they jumped on them - not sure if they were weatherproof though...

Having a problem getting registered in California.

Can't read your sticker but my 2020 says "This vehicle conforms to US EPA and California regulations applicable to 2020 model year new motorcycles and is certified to an HC+NOx emission standard of 0.8 gram/kilometer." If yours says the same thing it sounds like the Motor Vehicle Department has...

Suggestions for mounting a camera - 2020 RT

Anyone have any suggestions for a camera mounting location on the front of my 2020 RT - somewhere that I don't have to drill holes or alter the factory equipment? I can build a bracket, no problem, but don't see a good place to even put that. Would prefer to not place it behind the...

Anyone else having problems with the BRP Parts Online website?

My order actually shipped from a Can Am dealer in New York. As a suggestion, and I have no idea if they will do this, you might contact that dealer and see if they will give you the same prices as BRP lists on their website, maybe telling them the website is down and you can't order. Dutchess...

Having a problem getting registered in California.

Weird that they would be selling something that could not be legally registered. Did you sign any sort of disclosure where they advised you of this? Seems to me like the dealer should make it so that it passes emissions or they take the bike back and and return your money.

    2019 vs 2020 RT Limited?

Agree, seems of limited use if it only works for 1 second anyway. I guess if you have a passenger and are fully loaded on a steep hill it might give you a bit of help when moving your foot off the brake to when the throttle responds. On my 2 previous motorcycles and my current vehicles, the...

    2019 vs 2020 RT Limited?

May be why I haven't noticed it. Weird that they put a description of the feature in the F3 OM but not in our RT OM.

what BT connections do you use together

One thing I recently learned from this forum is that most bluetooth headsets have 2 bluetooth channels and that only 1 device can be active at a time on each channel. So, while you might be able to pair more than 1 device to each channel and have the Sena remember the device, only 1 device can...

    2019 vs 2020 RT Limited?

I see that it is mentioned in the Can Am literature but there is no mention of it in my owners manual. I have not noticed it activating on my bike - 2400 miles on hilly north georgia roads and parking lots so far. But then again, out of ingrained motorcycle habits, I am not sure I have ever...

HowTo: Add heated seats to 2020 RT base model

So, as a preface to this, I should point out that since I live in Georgia I did not need heated seats on my base '20 RT but I bought the seats from another forum member with the original intention of sending them to Russell Day Long to have them "do their thing" - the fact that they are heated...

HowTo: HF lift extension for sway bar install

I would also add that one needs to be careful about how it is lifted: AFAIK, and I haven't tested this, the emergency brake only works on the rear wheel. So if you have the front end lifted and then you decide to lift the rear end while the front end is in the air, the Spyder is going to go...
