• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

998cc Is too much Engine cooling harmful? Should the engine heat up more?

In Spyders since 2014, additional snorkels have been used in the side panels to cool the engine. The thermostat is not a cure for high cooling during low-temperature driving.

998cc Is too much Engine cooling harmful? Should the engine heat up more?

So you think it's better to underheat it than to have it work at a higher temperature?

998cc Gearbox knocking when cold - could it be the oil?

I drive on Motul 7100 oil. Before leaving for southern Europe, where the temperature reached 45 degrees Celsius this year, I poured in 10W50. Now I intend to go back to 10W40, which is what I used to use as a standard. Yes, loudly shifting into first gear and reverse is as normal as shifting...

998cc Is too much Engine cooling harmful? Should the engine heat up more?

I just got back from the Austrian Alps. It's a regular winter there. I used to ride in a hot climate so I leaned back the side panels to cool the engine better. Now the temperature gauge showed one to two cubes from the bottom. Is it better for the engine to heat up more? Is too much cooling...

998cc Gearbox knocking when cold - could it be the oil?

There is a distinct knocking sound in the gearbox when starting. After the engine warms up and starting, there is no more knocking. I recently changed the oil to a thicker one because I was driving in a hot climate. Do you think it has anything to do with the oil?

998cc Anyone help - looks like I'm Losing Coolant & something is dripping under the Spyder?

Thank you all for your help and advice. So, dripping from the pipe is certainly the result of filling the tank completely "under the cap". I will avoid this. Overflowing coolant is the result of excess coolant in the expansion tank. The only thing left is the increased pressure when unscrewing...

998cc Anyone help - looks like I'm Losing Coolant & something is dripping under the Spyder?

Up until now I have not had any fluid loss. Now when the engine is cold the level is on the lower scale as it should be. Maybe there really was too much fluid and travelling long distances in a hot climate did its job. Can a flammable fluid with a turpentine smell leak from the crankcase?

998cc Anyone help - looks like I'm Losing Coolant & something is dripping under the Spyder?

Mike, what do you think about this flammable fluid leaking from the black pipe under the chassis? Is that the fuel tank vent?

998cc Anyone help - looks like I'm Losing Coolant & something is dripping under the Spyder?

Anyone help - looks like I'm Losing Coolant & something is dripping under the Spyder? Can any of you help me? Recently, during a long trip to hot regions of Europe, I noticed that every morning, fluid leaks from the black rubber tube under the chassis. This wouldn't be a problem if the fluid in...

Front Tires - anyone fitted 155/60/15's?

Hi everyone! Does anyone have experience with fitting 155/60/15 front tires? These tires have a max load of 74 and the original 165/55/15 tires have a max load 75. Can these tires be fitted interchangeably?

    click from the drive belt

Fault found thanks to your support. The cause, as usual, proved to be prosaic. I have a non-original belt tensioner in Spyder. This tensioner came loose and his arm hit the lower belt cover. It seems that when the engine was not warmed up, it caused more vibration and when starting, tapping...
