• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trailer painted! Yee haw! Gritting my teeth waiting on the scratch-guard film.

Found the scratch guard kit I needed. A bit pricey - but I'm going for it - it's precut to shape. Their brand is called InvisiGard. https://www.autotrimdesign.net/Bombardier_Can-Am_Spyder_RT-622_Trailer_Paint_Film.asp

    One hot phone

On my RTL, if I'm on a long trip and it's gonna be 90 degrees plus outside - I use a small insulated pouch with a tiny one one of those blue-ice packets and put that with the phone in it into the frunk. The phone then stays cool. The frunk can get quite hot on summer days.

    Gave up on BRP connect

Doubt that's gonna happen. Neither of those two have anything specific to motorcycles - and they're not all that great in offline mode. What they have going for them is ubiquity and familiarity - and for some, that's their dealmaker. BRP Connect in conjunction with one of the available...

    Dam bugs

I've got the kott grills. Out here in New Mexico, it's plague of locusts all the time. I kinda like the idea of adding the bra - it's not too expensive either.

Found a good cleaning product to take when travelling

Gads - over here our water goes up to 44gpg/700+ppm hardness. It is absolutely *required* to rinse with deionized "spot-free" water - otherwise it's spot city in just one wash.

    Brake light wiring ?

Unless your a Software Engineer, you really don't need to know a whole lot about CAN BUS. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAN_bus In short - it's a communications bus that allows microprocessors to talk to each other. Modern vehicle systems have dozens of microprocessor controlled sub-systems...

    Another Muffler Thread

For me, I simply decided I the quiet exhaust was a good change of pace. My other vehicle is a 1999 Roadstar with a V&H 2->1 propipe. If the V-Twin shakin' don't get to ya, at least the pro-pipe will pop your eardrums...

    Camera install

Looks like it's using a go-pro style stick-on mount. Not sure if I'd want to do that. I've thought about where to put an action cam on my spyder RTL, and haven't come up with a solution either.

    Spyder Dealer Network Locations?

I noticed that some HD dealers were closing. Here in Albuquerque, we used to have multiple locations, and then one day one of the dealers bought out his competitors. Once COVID hit, *boom* there goes those extra showrooms. So far, multi-brand, multi-market dealers seem to be holding on much much...

Is there still a call for an actual 600 mile service on new Spyders?

It's what I have also - prepaid maintenance. I also got the extended warranty. Since I bought my 2018 as a left-over in 2019, I'm good till 2024. My thinking is enjoy it fully for the first five years, and start doing my own maintenance once the warranty expires. I'm basically keeping my RTL...

Found a good cleaning product to take when travelling

I was mildly surprised when I was looking for an inexpensive detailer to clean up the bike a bit. I just washed it last week, but we had a spot of rain and I live on a dusty gravel road. I really don't like to waste my S-100 detailer unless the bike is fairly clean to begin with. I went with...
