• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Danger of USING Digital devices while driving

Distracted and Dangerous!! I spent a second career of ten years as a Fire Service Captain attending many "accidents", and almost all of them involved either alcohol or cell phones or both! Any distraction at all, even spirited conversation slows down response time as much as being at or above...

ok i have another NON spyder related question

I agree! More info than most of us need, but the shop foreman is right it is functioning as designed. Most of those functions are to decrease the load on the engine from the charging system when it isn't needed, saves gas! And the battery should last longer also. :D

Riding in tight formation at 75+ MPH.

Tight Riding Some do, Some don't! I bring up the rear also with a group that I ride with, I can stop faster and don't want to be in the middle of a melee. They being in the lead get to clear the "Road Kill" before I get there! Only disadvantage is the noise, with a bunch speeding up and...

My Mistake! Why? I often ask myself why didn't I read the full info or question. :banghead: I have further investigated for the CORRECT bulbs for my ST and they are out of stock, but the 9005 units will fit one of our cages and I will reorder. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.:D...

I found the best LED headlight bulbs!

LEDs Arrived! Fast service from E-bay. However, I had assumed (dangerous) :opps: that they were dual element replacements Hi/LO, NOT :opps: they are only a single element for a two bulb setup for HI/LO. They would be perfect for any of the :spyder2: with shutters. But my 2015 ST has a single...

    Miles and Smiles!

I ride my 2015 ST Black Currant with a group of mostly HD 2 wheelers and 3 wheelers, I ride trail position as I don't like being bunched up and being run over when stopping. But, the bad thing is all the noise from the bikes and trikes even with ear plugs. :yikes: This past Saturday we did a...

    2014 ST limited won't start

Hot No Start? I assume (and we know what that does) that since you are in Tombstone it is HOT. I believe that there is a High Temp Limit in the Control software that is sensed from the AirTemp sensor that will shut the bike down if exceeded. We don't worry about it here on the coast but that...

    How High is High Milage?

High Miles? You didn't say what the failure of the sprocket was / is. Most that I've heard of were due to the bolt coming loose and then stripping the splines in the sprocket. Subsequent sprocket failures being due to damaged splines on the shaft, unless the bolt loosened again. Need more...

Too quiet on the RS & ST forum

Sound of Silence= Music I still have my 2015 ST and no problems of any kind! Just riding and enjoying. :yes:Had a 2008 GS and same story no problems except for riding position put too much weight against my hands, the ST cured that! I don't look for perfection just enjoyment!:yes:

    Buying first Spyder (used)

Good for you! My first :spyder2: was a 2008GS SE5 and I enjoyed every mile on it. It was very reliable, no problems of any kind. I traded it for a new 2015 ST just because of the seating ergonomics the crouched position of the GS put too much weight on my hands for long distance riding. I much...

    Canada?

Canada, Easy Peasy Certain "Premium Credit Cards are not accepted by merchants in some provinces. Those extra points that they pay you for your purchases are paid by the merchant. Have your vehicle registration slips and insurance papers with you. Leave the mace, large knives, any loose...

    Buying decisions

    DRUGS IN CANADA??

Drugs? It's the same here at home in the USA keep the prescriptions in the original container, and the label had better be for you, not your friend's name. Supplements, well they have them in the markets in Canada also. A few days without your vitamins won't harm you, ( even though my wife...

    ATGATT stories

ATGATT !!!! My story is not horrific, but without the gear to protect me it could have been. My helmets have numerous chips in the Gel Coat from small rocks thrown by adjacent vehicles. One helmet received a strike from a large stone thrown from the duals of large dump truck, fractured the...

    "Death Grip"?

Life Non-Grip! vs Death Grip I'm 75 yrs. and have rode since 14-15 yrs. various bikes on and off road. I too switched to a :spyder2: four years ago and fought the urge to hang on tight, took awhile. I've found that wind gusts and turbulence from other vehicles largely moves your body first, you...

    Another tire question

Tires! If they were mine I'd change them. At that amount of milage they have paid for themselves:yes: and they have had a lot of flexing going down the road, so they may be suffering from fatigue despite the apparent lack of wear. Age is another factor even with low mileage if that were the...

    GS 2008 Brakes

Annoying ! I had a 2008 GS and it squealed in reverse, changed the pads, polished the rotor, changed the bolts, used a no squeal product on the rear of the pads, chamfered the pads, still squealed. Reached the conclusion that is why the twin is so noisy, to hide the squeal.:joke: Look at it...

Will gravel road harm the tires?

Depends! I regularly ride on gravel roads here in Oregon, county and National Forest and have not had a problem yet! Last weekend did over 100 miles on gravel, I keep the rear wheel in the track and avoid spinning the tire. I often shift as far to the rear as possible to place more...
