• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trailer Packed , Mayberry here we come!

Day two, Thursday night update. 900 miles into our trip- Almost ten hours in the seat today on the Blue Ridge Parkway south into the Carolinas. Arrived at Pilot Mountain about 730 pm. Can report the RT's performed incredibly on arguably tough days for any bike. Stop and go Road construction ...

    still another bad rear shock

Well , we may be talking about 2 different things. There is a standard shock that is mounted on the swing arm just as on the RS. (metal spring , internal hydraulic type dampening). In front of that is a secondary air bladder shock which is a completely seperate system and only adds to the load...

    Dealer setup and freight

there is NO TRUTH in the statement about getting caught discounting a product by BRP. A) it is illegal and B) BRP makes the same profit regardless. The RTS has a dealer cost of just under 23k. The 622 is a 3500 dollar dealer cost Item. If I'm a dealer and I'm going to have to bring in an RTS ...

Deb , you are absolutely correct.

    Dealer setup and freight

Perhaps your dealer has a magic fairy that delivers his Spyders but trust me , they pay a full ride on freight , that is not something that they get for free. So a dealer that charges it is merely recouping his money , and the dealer that doesn't is just burying it in his profit elsewhere. Guys...

    still another bad rear shock

Some one is telling you a story I think. The lowest inventory I have seen on the rear shock on BRP's ordering system is a quantity of (7). I have had to have one replaced and I know several others at my dealer also. From what I have seen on the BRP ordering system they have never been *out* of...

    July 10th Western NY Ryde

A few of us are getting together July tenth for a ride and lunch starting in Akron NY (just east of Buffalo towards Rochester) and going to Fort Niagara (USA). Started out as a small ride but once we got the donation of lunch by Bucks Motorsports , the numbers appear to be growing! So its a bit...

    Ten days and counting

The Mrs. and I are headed south June 28th for a few day road trip and staying in Mt. Airy (Mayberry) NC. While this may sound inconsequential to some, my job is such that any days off are far and few between....my only time off I had in the last 2 years was one week last summer and a long...

FYI on my RT's Top Speed

This is more of an FYI than a debate to see how fast an RT will go- With the windshield down and me tucked in on a flat (not down hill) road with a small (~ 5-8 mph) headwind , I can see 103 out of the RT. (I weigh about 230) Was pulling about 99-100 in 4th and shifted to 5th, it just won't...

    Upgraded Rear Shock

Company: Progressive Suspension . Model 418 , 13 1/2 inch eye to eye length. Sold in pairs, ~ $ 500.00 for the pair. A serious upgrade versus stock. Unfortunately I have not had enough seat time to really give it a full work out. The biggest difference is the rear end feels planted and solid...

    Upgraded Rear Shock

I currently have a new rear shock (not stock) on one of our RT's. It is an aluminum bodied fully adjustable (compression , rebound dampening). I have about 90 miles of mostly non high way riding , so far it has made the RTS a different machine. I am going to give it a thorough thrashing this...

    Trip end in near desaster

I just looked and agree- under normal circumstances it probably would be fine , but I still think the additional vibrations some components are being asked to absorb is a contributing factor , plus we got a big old cat convertor hanging on the other end.... thus my suggestion that that area...

    Trip end in near desaster

PE 0027 is down and out with the same issue , It split wide open at that seam at 540 miles. :( Part was available from BRP and not on back order and it will be replaced this Friday while they do a) fuel guage repair b) rear shock replacement and c) audio repair to fix radio shutting off on a...

    So Here's Where We Stand

There are 2 known issues with the back suspension, one relates to a fitting that allows air to bleed out of the air assist bag and the other (which sounds like your description) is a faulty rear shock itself. The internals of the shock fail , thus providing NO rebound dampening, the machine...
