• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 Idler Pulley Kit (Part #219800412) Installed!

+1, They (Pit Bull Powersports) were heads up and ordered a bunch of them to meet an expected demand. Should be a simple two bolt install after the few parts are removed for access. I didn't even contact my dealer as I really didn't want to explain the part, get a quizzical look and then after...

    Is an F3 for me?

akspyderman, My F3-S only feels "Harleyesque" if you are comparing it to some of the bikes like the Wide Glide and some others where you have that extended feet forward position that Harley's frequently offer with forward controls. Unlike Harleys, BRP offers the U-Fit system that allows for more...

    Is an F3 for me?

I am not sure how to respond to the OP on the question of going from a Street Glide to a F3? I own a late model (2016) Harley Tri Glide, a 2015 Can-Am Spyder F3-S with an F4 windshield and Baker Air Wings, and a 2005 Harley Road King with a factory windshield. The Can-Am is sooooooooooooooooo...

    F3 Impressions after 1,900 miles....

Thnanks again Mike. I found some almost brand-new BRP floorboards on fleabay at a great price and they are going to be coming my way. The part number does not show that a shorter shifter comes with the ensemble. I am not sure how to handle that or if a shorter shifter is needed?

    F3 Impressions after 1,900 miles....

Where does one obtain floorboards for a SM6 F3? I thought we were limited to pegs with the manual shift?

exextended warranty have you used it

I was having a laser alignment performed on a dealer demonstrator F3-S that I had purchased with only 5 months remaining on the original factory warranty. Was advised that there are 5 computers controlling many of the functions of the machine. Given the technological complexity of these Spyders...

    F3 28K SERVICE

SPYDER3R, In the Harley-Davidson shop manual I have for my new-to-me 2005 Road King, it specifically states to replace spark plugs with the exact factory spec'd plugs that Harley first built the bike with. Their logic is that the engineers did all of their heat/performance testing with a...

    Belt Tension

I had a True Laser Track alignment completed on my 2015 F3-S a couple of weeks ago but in the interim had picked up a two-wheeled Harley Road King that I have been extensively wrenching on to get it road worthy (have to have a little fun on two wheels occasionally). Today, I went out on a 120...

    F3 Vibration

Wildrice, I have not heard of anyone else conducting this test and I would be surprised if BRP and Rotax had not done extensive testing prior to using the 1330 ACE engine? I was talking with an engineer buddy of mine about the potential belt vibration and he acknowledged that from a dynamic...

    Correct F3 Belt tension info

I tested my belt tension on my F3-S with my KriKit II and the Spyder on a flat/level surface this morning. I marked every other spoke on the rear sprocket with a piece of blue painter's tape and then proceeded to take measurements with the taped spoke in the downward position and rotated the...

    Correct F3 Belt tension info

Bruce B., If you go to my write-up yesterday of my visit to Doc's Spyder Alignment in Georgia, there are some added pieces of information to the data that you have reported. As you know, the Gates Sonic Meter readings are taken with the rear tire off the ground for proper readings and the...

Doc's Spyder Aligment in Folkston, GA is fantastic

Travelled almost 3.5 hours this morning to get to Doc's Spyder Alignment in Folkston, GA. Dave "Doc" Cochran was absolutely terrific when it came to dialing in the alignment on my 2015 F3-S using the True Laser Track system today. He is also expert at belt alignment and tension and used a very...

    F3 Vibration

Wildrice, According to Gates belts own ads, "Gates Sonic Tension Meter measures belt tension by analyzing the harmonic characteristics of a vibrating belt. Strum the belt like a guitar string and the meter takes care of the rest. Belts, like strings, vibrate at a particular natural frequency...

First Use of a Krikit II V-Belt Tension Gauge

I read the bulletin and the description of the harmonic vibration is exactly what I have experienced under load. Would it be safe to say that if I am using a Krikit on my drive belt and it is measuring say 190-195 pounds when the gauge clicks that I need to reduce the tension on my drive belt so...

First Use of a Krikit II V-Belt Tension Gauge

JC, This is VERY helpful. Now, what math do I use to convert the recommended force of 300 Newtons in order to use my Krikit II which measures belt tension in either KG's or pounds which is what the Krikit measures? Thanks for your time. Bob

First Use of a Krikit II V-Belt Tension Gauge

Chupaca, great suggestion to get the sonic meter on my belt and then get baseline values on my Krikit II. Being that there is a fair amount of "slop" with the +/- value of 111 foot-pounds acceptable variation from the 571 foot-pounds median value, it will be interesting to see how that...

    Question about a sway bar

It's funny but in the thread titled " Baja Ron Sway Bar Regrets" which is on this forum, the OP is lamenting that he had not installed a Ronbar in his two previous trikes after 37k of riding and only finally installed them on his third Spyder and was sort of verbally kicking himself. Someone...

First Use of a Krikit II V-Belt Tension Gauge

The revised 2010/2013 Service Bulletins that my dealer informed me of stated that the F3 belt tension needed to be tested with the rear wheel off the ground. I confirmed this with another Spyder dealer. For the F3, the belt tension value at room temperature with the rear wheel off the ground...
