• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Prospective new Spyder rider-couple of questions, please?

answers Splitting obstructions is a learned skill. You will learn just how close to the front tire the obstacle can be to miss the rear tire. It takes a little while to get right. As for the manual or semi-automatic, I have a 2015 F3 SM6. The clutch was always heavy and after getting tennis...

    Trailer to haul the Spyder

towing damage If you are worried about damage from stuff being thrown up by your towing vehicle, go to a custom upholstery shop and have them make you a bra for the Spyder. I had one made that covers the front of the bike and has separate pants for the wheels. It wasn't terribly expensive...

    F3S gps wiring?

Customer accessory wiring You could run it to the Customer accessory wiring leads under the panel where the safety label is hidden. I ran constantly hot 12 VDC, switched 12 VDC and Ground into there to make accessory wiring easier. If you order the five wire WEGO lever locks (Lamonster...

    Lever locks

use for many things I liked them so much I ordered a number of them and use them in place of twist locks when I replace light switches and outlets. I have also some of the five lever ones up a distribution points under the service panel on the left side of my F3. One for switched 12 VDC, One...

F3 Clutch updated to vacuum assist.....

installation complete The dealer installed the vacuum assist today. It's an immense improvement. The funny thing is that they couldn't find the service bulletin and when they called BRP they were first told it woldn't work on a F3, then they got a call back from someone else who got them the...

F3 Clutch updated to vacuum assist.....

costs The parts for the vacuum assist are in, parts cost is $170.00 and the dealer estimates a hour and a half labor for the installation. Total about $340.00 and it looks to be well worth it since I now have clutch elbow and the doctor won't allow me to ride the bike.

    Fog Light dimensions

Lamonster I used Lamonster's fog lights and rings with the BRP heat shields to give it a more finished look. The heat shields are inexpensive, about nine bucks each. You can try to cut the blank plugs with a hole saw, but I didn't have good luck. Lamonster's kit comes with everything you...

Retiring soon, vehicle / trailer recommendations.

Ford Escape My wife and I tow our F3 on an open trailer behind our Escape. It's got a 2.3 liter turbo and NO factory towing package. It does just fine. Make sure that you have generous spare width on your trailer, I only had about two inches on either side to the wheels and maneuvering the...

    Riding Two Up.

upgrades I bought a very lightly used base 2015 F3 (175 miles) and went the upgrade route. Just adding a seat, windshield, floorboards and upgrading the rear suspension can easily cost you two thousand to twenty five hundred dollars plus the upgrades that you do for yourself. To my wife, the...

Interesting Article on Motorcycle Sales in US

wisdom As a long-time sailor and racer, I can say that you have to be a masochist to own a boat. Boats are a hole in the water that you throw money into, in fact the acronym BOAT means Break Out Another Thousand. That doesn't mean that I don't love sailing and racing sailboats, but it's...

Interesting Article on Motorcycle Sales in US

rv expenses I figure about a hundred bucks a day for fuel when I use my RV. So if I'm taking a short-duration trip of one or two days, I take the car and stay in hotels, it's usually cheaper that way. For longer trips, or ones where I don't want to stay on a schedule I take the RV and tow...

Does it really take 300 miles?

agree I had a little experience in the early '70s riding dirt bikes. I bought my F3 in 2016. It probably took 500 or so miles to get comfortable. I had no "bad" 2 wheel habits to unlearn. I took to the Spyder right away. Although I was a little intimidated by it, I soon got over it. What...

    New California congratulations

faults and expense Judging from what the "big dig" cost back east, tunneling under the mountains would cost more than the entire budget for the system. Plus both ranges are unstable with multiple faults running through them. Brown and his friends just keep wasting money on a system that...

    New California congratulations

mountains A big part of the problem is it has to go over two mountain ranges instead of under them now. Trains climbing mountains do so slowly because of loops and switchbacks, all too tight for high speeds even if the train has a high enough power to weight ratio to climb quickly. Once...

    New California congratulations

failure That was doomed to failure from the start. Three hours from downtown Los Angeles to downtown San Francisco was always impossible. Jerry Brown and his friends sold the taxpayers a bill of goods. Now it's a hybrid low speed/high speed system which if it's ever finished won't be any...
