• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Tinted vs Clear Windshield

windshield I always look over the top of the windshield. No one makes a windshield tall enough to go over eye level for someone 6'2". When I got it I was leaning towards tinted, but my wife talked me into clear. In retrospect, the tinted one would have been just fine and might have looked a...

Advice and suggestions for curves and Twisties?

stability I've raced sailboats most of my adult life, so using my weight as movable ballast is second nature to me. I have only put about three thousand miles on my F3, but from the first time I cornered it I have pushed on the outside peg to shift my weight to the inside. Most of the time...

35 this AM wife just left 4 work on Spyder

temps Mid ninties in Ventura for the last three days and no on-shore cooling at night. Miserable weather for us, I just want to sit in a dark room under a ceiling fan, or go somewhere with air conditioning. Ventura is usually so cool that few houses have air. It's so hot that it isn't even...

    thanks I appreciate the answer.

What about what you don't you like about the Spyder?

fuel The fuel filler design on the F3 is the worst I have ever seen. I either have to lose a gallon and a half, or hold the elephant snout back and because the valves on the pumps are so coarse, I always wind up spilling gas on the bike.

Hubby doing another cross country ride.

long rides This may sound foolish, but I've never taken overnight rides. Where do you sleep? Do you make reservations at campgrounds or motels?

theaters It must never have been released in theaters, I was watching for it.

AAA Towing Coverage vs BRP's Under Warranty?

AAA I have my Spyder on my AAA coverage, but pulled my RV after it took AAA almost seven hours to change a tire on it. None of their techs had a socket big enough for the lug nuts. I now have my RV roadside with Good Sam, I know their techs will have what a RV needs.

    Done for now

knees Good luck. I had both replaced about six years ago. Things are much better now. Just pay attention to your therapist and push the new knee hard. The more pain you suffer during the early part of healing the better the results are after healing. If they give you one of the machines...

    The End is Near

Ohio I was born and partially raised in Cincinatti. You couldn't pay me enough to live in Ohio; cold and dank in the winter and hot and humid in the summer.

    The End is Near

California That's the nice thing here, we are coming out of the heat into the best time of the year for riding. Consistent sixties to seventies and no marine layer clouds to make the skies gray. During the summer months I tend to stay right on the coast to dodge the hundred degree heat inland.

    Four Corners Tour

california If you are passing through, use I5 or 99 for speed, but if you want scenery, take Highway 1 and don't miss Big Sur when they reopen Highway 1 after replacing the bridge that washed out. I doubt there is a prettier ride anywhere, mountains and forested ridges inland on the east...

    Tall boy or Blue ridge

neither I had the Blue Ridge on my F3 and other than protecting my hands, it was worthless. I'm 6'2" and at freeway speeds the turbulence hit me just below neck level. Save your money and go with a F4. I replaced my Blue Ridge with a 32" and now I can ride with my face plate open up about...

    Lamonster Garage

attitude The only people who don't screw up from time to time are those who do nothing. The mark of a man or company is how they handle their screw ups. You do well. This just reinforces my opinion of you based upon my transactions with your company.

    F3-S Windshield

difference I went from a blueridge to a 32" F4. The only thing you will miss is the hand protection the blueridge offered. I wear gloves more often now. Other than that minor disadvantage, the F4 is a clear winner.

    Spyder on ramps

Jackstands I wouldn't work under anything supported by just a jack. Jack the Spyder up and use jackstands for support.

    Spyder on ramps

Rhino Ramps I use the same Rhino Ramps that I use to level my RV. Sorry I don't have any photos, but they are easy to use and raise the front of the bike about eight inches. That's just enough to get under it to work with a couple of inches of clearance. I ordered the ramps from Amazon...

    Horn location

finished Well it's done. Four hours plus time to put the tupperware back on, but it's worth it. No more roadrunner beep beep. I can recommend the horn, but certainly get the two piece one. That allows you to place the compressor one place and the horn another. The sound is amazing, very...

    Horn location

grill Yep, I didn't notice that it had posted. When I was removing tupperware trying to locate the horn, I pulled off the grill and found there is a large air plenum for the radiators. If there is anything solid enough to mount the horn and compressor in there it looks like an ideal location...
