• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

no idea I was trying to locate it by the sound which seemed to be coming from the left side.

    Horn location

I'm installing a Denali Soundbomb air horn on my F3. After tearing most of the left side and front tupperware panels off trying to trace the sound, I finally broke down and bought a download service manual. The horn is actually under a access panel on the bottom of the Spyder beside the right...

    I'M FED UP

recission of sale Given this bike's troubled history, I think the owner could sue the dealer and CanAM for recission of sale. The bike has never lived up to it's promise and there are plenty of people on this list alone that would testify to the essentially trouble-free natures of their...

Motorcycle GPS vs Car (Portable) GPS?

TomTom I use a TomTom that I used to use in the car. Why buy a new GPS for almost a grand when what I already have works reasonably well. Most of hte time I don't even have the GPS mount on the bike. I only use it when I'm going someplace strange.

I'm lucky to be alive to tell this story.......

really. I spent thirty five years with AT&T. Their policy was exactly the same. In their view any accident was preventable even if you had to take a different route. The rule was to make three right turns rather than one left one. Always if possible park in a pull through space. The list...

    Bikes Blues and BBQ

water Never pour water on a gasoline fire, all it does is spread it by washing the gasoline around. Not that one bottle of water is going to do much damage or help anyway. However the person's heart was in the right place.

I'm lucky to be alive to tell this story.......

similar but not so bad I had something similar happen. I was making a left turn onto a busy street, since traffic was backed up in the number one lane due to left turning traffic at the next light, I was turning into the number two lane (legal in California). A guy in a muscle car decided he...

    Test Ride a TriGlide

just the opposite As I understand it, a tricycle is inherently unstable, but a reverse tricycle is inherently stable. It you look at both it makes sense, in slowing down or turning the mass on a standard trike shifts to the narrowest part of the bike, on a reverse trike it's just the opposite.

    Swerving, Nanny, & cruise control

rpms I use rpms and grade to determine what gear to run in, not speed. I'm OK with anything above 2500 on the flat, but on any grade I want to be above 3000, usually 3500. For me sixth is a long distance cruising gear for flat freeways.

    F3-S Windshield

F4 I've got a 32" F4 on my F3. I love the windshield, there is a little adjustment, but I run with it up all the time. At eighty on the freeway, I can ride with my faceplate open with no noise or buffeting at all. The F4 is easy to install and a little pricey, but quality is worth the money.

LidLox: Where do you store/carry Your Key?

Keyring I keep my Lidlock and my SHAD key on my regular key ring in my pocket. I've already got too many key rings when I travel, one for the Spyder trailer's locks, one for the motor home and my everyday keyring.

    Don't Tell My Wife...

Closer is better y wife and I just got back from the Norcal Spyder rally. We were staying at an RV park thirty minutes away from the venue. We found that we missed out on a lot of things by being so far away. From now on, the closer the better is my motto. M

    California DMV sucks

california Here in California, we are pretty much the most taxed citizens in the country. The state doesn't have a money problem, it has a spending problem. The democrats running things never saw a project that they didn't want to spend other people's money on. The only thing that keeps me...

    F3 2-UP SHOCK

uncertain I also just installed a two-up shock. I doubted that it would make much difference, but it was a compromise with my wife rather than jumping in and buying the six hundred buck Elca. I was wrong, it's made a huge improvement in the ride and has pretty much stopped the bottoming out...

Two Spyder Family, its her fault

installing foglights You might want to order Lamonster's fog rings as well and finish the installation with the BRP heat shields for a more finished look around the fog lights. Of course you could try to cut holes in the blanks, but for less than twenty bucks the heat shields look better.

    Seat upgrade for F3 T.

custom seats If you are going to go as high as a Corbin costs, you might check with a custom saddlemaker. I had a passenger and rider seat made for my F3 for $1,300.00 by Bill Mayer saddles here in Ventura. They do ride-in and internet orders and build you a seat to suit you and...

How to move rear tire over in an enclosed trailer

if that won't work If that wont work, you can use a ratchet tie-down to help slide the wheel. Just attach it to the rear wheel with a loop and crank away. If you need more leverage that that, a pair of visegrips on the lever will help. Add that to any of the friction reduction solutions...
