• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Helmet time - any deals out there? Anyone interested in a Group Buy?

I bought a "Sena outrush R" which comes with the speakers and mike installed. It's actually a pretty good helmet for around $250 and I think Ron may sell them also. Support from Sena has been great directing me on how to re-set the bluetooth via their chat. I did order one size larger than my...

Suggestions on which Stick on Convex Mirrors to get?

I put those tricled mirrors on my 2021 RT and they helped a lot increasing the view and eliminating the blind spots. I was fortunate to catch them on sale (can't remember where). Only problem is when passing another vehicle, you have to make sure you wait a little longer to pull in. Objects...

Doing 1st oil change (Spyder RT) I have a few questions (((Pics)))

I just changed oil on my 2021 RTL (second oil change) at 5800 miles from the first change---WOW the difference in shifting and clutch operation was really noticeable. I know Can-Am says 9300 miles, but thats too long. I used the LaMonster kit and it took 5.3 qts to put the level slightly above...

What are your preferred Replacement brake pads fr/rear for Spyder?

What year /model of Spyder?. Mine is a 2021 RTL and I decided to use the Brembo, P/N 98.5031.70. , not installed yet. Decided against the EBC HH pads because on every other bike , they took a long time to break in and growled--eventually were ok, and I'm sure would last longer but also wanted...

    Never order from https://can-am-shop.brp.com/

Paypal is very good about a refund for a non-responsive merchant , and have gotten me a full refund in the past. Just be sure to document your requests and e-mails.date and time etc. If they don't accept paypal--look for someone else.

2021 RT - Where is the keyed power supply? Is it fused?

I used that lead for my USB/voltmeter in the blank dash slot--works great and gives the bike voltage when nothing is plugged in and the accessory usb voltage being supplied when in use. The keyed power lead is fused (5 amp) on the right side (bike's) fuse panel. it will blow if you hook up...

BATTERY TENDER CABLE ROUTING (outside of the frunk)? 2020 RTL

I found that this location inboard of the left mirror (2021 RTL) works well and will power my wife's jacket or mine and allow me to charge the battery. It's a "BMW" type plug and socket which is also available at John Deere--they don't vibrate out like a cigarette socket. Easy access direct to...

What do you do with your Pedal Commander in the rain?

I just mounted mine under the seat (right side)--stays dry there

Ultimate Seat care?? And what about rain?

I have had several "seam leaky" seats---worst one was the Russell Day Long with quilted stitching. I just carry a trash bag of the proper size when I camp or park outside.

Do Lamonster links need washers on Sway Bar kit?

When I installed my links with spacers (BaJRon)--I put a small drop of super glue on the spacers to the links as advised by someone on this site--forgot who but it worked great and made for an easy install

Rear rim Drive O-ring - anyone got the specs??

Yes the post was old--but I had the same problem recently. My O-ring had a small nick out of it but I used it anyway and will look for another (maybe several) for next time. Also I will chamfer the inner edge of the drive sprocket slightly to help it ease by the o-ring. I used Napa "sil...

My first new rear tire today

Sounds like a great idea--but I doubt if I will drill a hole in a $500 plus wheel. I will probably just wait until the next time I remove the wheel, then align the stem where I can get to it easier.

My first new rear tire today

Mine is a 2021 RTL. Lots of stuff to remove to change the tire--and I removed the muffler also for easier access to the axle nut. Wonder how much the dealer would charge for a rear tire replacement? Whatever I saved I will probably spend at Lamonsters as soon as the weather improves.

My first new rear tire today

I did find out one more "tip" today after checking air pressure. When you put the drive sprocket back in to the wheel hub--make sure the valve stem is in between the opening in the "spokes". A little hard to get to now, but do-able. I may just add an angle stem.

My first new rear tire today

Finally installed my new Altimax (215/60/15) today after 5600 miles on the OEM Kenda. Tips from this forum were very helpful and much appreciated. Also hooked up the top exhaust spring to my Rick's cat delete pipe--much easier with the wheel off and on the H/F lift which worked great. Test...

    Shop Rates! Wow!

Didn't know hourly rate was that high (in some places). I'm fortunate to live close to LaMonsters where I went for a balance, align and oil change last year and was pleased with their service and prices. The align was 1/3 of the quoted cost from the dealer --it DID need it--and my friends...

    2020/21 redesigned front drive sprocket

I think you are correct on the "moly paste" instead of anti-sieze--at least according to the bmw online tech guy (Paul Glaves). He suggested a mixture of the Honda Moly and I think Bel-Ray waterproof grease for the splines on the beemer drive shafts as they moved. I still have both paste and...

Are the Sway bars on the 2022 still crap?

No--I really did need the shocks as I found out after a trip to Nebraska --really bad roads. I don't think there is much adjustment on the stock shocks and I was feeling a lot of reactive bounce over the road patches, dips and potholes. The Elkas took care of that. Pricey--but well worth it...

Are the Sway bars on the 2022 still crap?

I seriously doubt that considering the conservative way I ride, the sway bar ends were necessary--but they were on sale, came in red to match my Spyder and I wanted to get rid of the pressed plastic stock ones. Naturally I noticed a "huge improvement" in cornering, but I attribute that to the...
