• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Motorcycle GPS (you get what you pay for)

I just purchased a Garmin Nuvi 550. This unit isn't being made anymore, but I bought a reconditioned one with a full year warranty. I haven't receive it yet, but I want something that was more motorcycle friendly and water/weather proof. I'll have to report on the until as soon as I get a...

What Do You Use for Cleaning, and How Do You Go About It?

OK--lots of good info--here's my routine: I use the Honda spray cleaner/polish after each ride to get off the majority of the surface dirt. For the "bug splats" that collect on the front, I just soak a clean rag in hot water. Then I lay the rag on the dead critters and they come right off. I...

    RT wires?

I just install the 12V outlet in the frunk of my 2012 RT. Yes, it's totally plug 'n play-the wiring for the outlet is there up near the left front wheel. Look hard, you'll find it.

Do you have this Luggage Rack?

I am very interested in this rack, when it becomes available. I just want a place to carry lighter bulky items (rain gear, bike cover, etc). However, I do have some concerns. I have heard that over time, the rack may cause cracking of the trunk lid. I've seen this on some Goldwings. Anyone...

    Gremlin Bells---not that I am superstitious.....but

To answer your question--yes I have one on the RT. In fact I have one on all my bikes. They have been given by friends and I also give them to riding buddies. For me it's just more of a sign of friendship between friends. Here's a pic of mine on the Sypder:

can-am spyder rss review by luke lester

I agree with him about the need for brakes that can be operated independently of each other. Maybe I've been riding 2 wheels too long, or been riding off road bikes too long, but i do miss that!

    Stabil Ethanol treatment

I agree--I had to pay a $800 repair bill on my jet ski that had the rubber seals in the carbs destroyed by ethanol. Now I use Stabil in all my engines!

    Speed Limit in Reverse?

I have a 2012 RT-S and have had the same problem on a couple of occasions. I was trying to back out of my garage up a slight incline and stalled a couple of times as it seemed the engine bogged down. I wasn't able to open the throttle up to give it any more gas to get it going more than a crawl...

    Speed Limit in Reverse?

Yea--thanks for the info. I never experienced the engine "galloping" like it did. Not sure what to call it--best word I can think of. I guess maybe as I was trying to back up the incline, I rolled on the throttle a little too much which I was in the friction zone of the clutch. I'll have to...

    Speed Limit in Reverse?

So about the only time I've ever used reverse on my 2012 RT (SM5) is to back it out of the garage. The other day however, I had to back it up an incline at a service station. The engine started to "gallop" as I was slipping the clutch and I had a very hard time backing up. It got me wondering...

    RT Electrical gone wacky

I teach the MSF class and we always teach students to shut down their engines using the engine cut off switch (we don't use the word "kill"--kind of a scary word to use when teaching new students how to ride!!! )LOL

On my 2012 RT I just plug the battery tender into the 12V outlet in the trunk to charge the battery. Can you still do that on the 2013's?
