• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    helmet

I went from a Gmax to a HJC myself after trying on many helmets. The headshape is really key to comfort. Once you have that, you can go to websites like Revzilla and sort by type there.

    Madstad Windshield

I like mine. I think because PacNW doesn't get overly hot it works well. Ever since I've put it on, I haven't been hit by bug one whereas before I was getting splattered both hands and face. I have it tilted at about 45 deg which gives me a little bit of feathering of wind around my face (I...

9 month goal to be F3L owner

Welcome! Sounds like you are a in a good place for the ride. I also had no motorcycle (driving) experience, was only a passenger before. After taking the class, getting on after that was easy. I got my ride this year in May, the rebates just hit nicely for the '17s, made me smile from ear...

    SOME OPINIONS, PLEASE

For the shorter routes, I use Waze. Google maps for "what's in the area" but Waze 100% for navigation. However, for planning the longer routes with motorcycle option, use InRoute app. You can break up the legs, create sections where you want to take a side trip and store them for later...

    F3T or F3L

I did a google search for you, since I couldn't remember myself and laughed when I saw myself being redirected back to this site. here you go: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?108145-F3-Limited-vs-F3-T-is-the-Limited-worth-the-premium I have the F3L, love it. But then, I...

    Under $10,000 Spyder

A few months ago I visited Paris and found it interesting that mostly people rode scotters, or narrow sports bikes. I think I might have seen one tour bike. Many bikes get preferred areas over area, those areas are too small for current spyders. So just curious if a new one would be smaller...

    Under $10,000 Spyder

Plus, I'd love to see a smaller one for metro areas. The Nikken seems to do well there, why not something smaller from BRP? Plus with a pricepoint that doesn't appeal to the touring or high sport category just might be the ticket. I love my F3. I wouldn't trade it in now that I have it...

    Under $10,000 Spyder

I recall riding my Spyder to work early on. Lots of interest, & curiosity, particularly in the younger crowd. As soon as you get to the price point, they tend to walk away. An entry level just might be that hook

Want to help start a list and get BURPS (BRP) attention on how to improve???

Above is true. I learned a lot about the in/outs of my bike from my dealer, I figured the process would be similar to my car, and it was. I think more so for bikes than cars, dealers matter. The quality of the service bay matters. My dealer (Lifestyles Honda) has been great to me and my...

Want to help start a list and get BURPS (BRP) attention on how to improve???

Curious if it's also related to some years/models. Eg; My owners manual had info on the Eco & radio....a bit confused on that one. :dontknow: Granted I don't have a year's worth of riding yet, so it's still early but I'm currently fine with the performance of my F3. Haven't felt the need yet...

    Rider Training Class

My honey and I also enjoyed our Can-am class in Seattle. Well worth it. Don't think I would have learned that drifting is actually something you want to do outside of the class. They taught safety > comfort > fun. Well worth it. Felt so comfortable by the end of day 1. Worth the $ by far.

Using cel phone gps vs zumo 660

Been playing around with the app "inRoute", like it so far. It'll do for while I ponder if I want to spend the $ on a GPS. I'm eyeballing the 396, in the meantime, there is a curvy route planner in the app that works for what I need.

Ride in ECON Mode or not?

When I started riding, I used the ECO mode to get used to the shifting points. For the past 3 weeks (after 600 miles on her), I took it off and haven't gone back. I rather enjoy being the one not only in control but having fun with the shift points. I believe it's part of that dance/ride.
