• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Couple of little mods today

LED headlights Lamont, What about heat with the LED headlights? A lot of the H4 replacement LED's have a built in heat sink out the back due to this concern. I looked at your install picture and I didn't see any. Does your bulb not need it?

Unpaved roads in the Smoky Mountains

What i have seen over 10 years is about a dozen belts ruined by gravel finding its way between the rear pulley and belt. The tiny ones, little shale pieces, often from tarred/chipped surfaces or fine gravel roads get thrown up by the rear tire, fall onto the lower travelling belt, get rolled...

    Ryker floorboards

That is going to be a big seller. The stock pegs are a bit short(?) and their end digs into your shoe if you aren't wearing boots. Is the board angle adjustable?

    F3-s or Ryker??

There is no bad choice there, but picking between them really comes down to what you envision doing on it, and where. If you see frequent trips 2+ hours at a time on higher speed roads/highways, then the F3 is a better choice IMO. Why? I works less to maintain those speeds (engine rpm's), it...

    Disc lock??

You are exactly right. it looks like a lock will slide over the parking lever which will effectively not allow it to move. That will lock the rear wheel. Problem soon solved by BRP accessory.

    Disc lock??

i would think that a simple way would be to use a bicycle "cable" style lock thru the rear wheel and around the swingarm

My First Extended ride on the Ryker

OK, I have spent the majority of my riding time since 2009 on Spyders. (My other rides are a Triumph Sprint ST and a Suzuki DR650 dual sport). To date, I am guessing my Spyder miles to be at around 50,000, the bulk of which have been on RT's. I cut my teeth on GS's, loved the ST's, enjoyed the...

    belt or chain

INSIDE OF GEARBOX From the driven clutch of the CVT, it goes into the gearbox, which has forward and reverse mechanisms. Inside this gearbox are actually two chains which move between the gear shafts and, ultimately, to the output shaft and out thru the driveshaft. It reminds me a little of a...

    RYKER MPG

Treat it like a math problem. So, if I ride a Ryker 10,000 miles a year at 30mpg and $3 a gallon my cost would be approx $334 per year. If I ride an F3 10,000 miles a year at 40mpg and $3 a gallon I will spend about $250 a year. So, I saved $84 a year on gas. Now if I spend $4000 more for...

You still have to shift it with a clutch and you still have to hold it up. What's the point of buying it over a regular two wheeler?

    Ryker dirt road and gravel

Ryker Off Road I think the majority are correct the offroad means dirt road, fire road, etc.. not really offroad. That said, the CVT is definitely better in this environment than either the SE or SM for a number of reasons, not the least of which is less sensors to contaminate. The problems...
