• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Removing inside of rear storage compartment RTL

A great idea nonetheless. Thanks for giving it a shot -- and for warning us off.

To cover or not to cover...

Another vote for a half cover I commute with my Spyder, and don't have covered parking at work, so I use my UltraGard half-cover on a daily basis. Works great, easy to use, and doesn't take up too much space in the rear case.

Removing inside of rear storage compartment RTL

I'm looking forward to hearing about how that worked. We can *just* get our spare 3/4 helmet in there right now (for friends/family who want to hop on for a test ride when I'm riding solo), but would really like to be able to use that space for one of our full-face helmets on a longer trip. That...

A lot of variables in there, but... ...here's a comparison of helmets by weight that might give you a start on your quest: https://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-helmet-weights/

    Motonation Cappra Riding Pants Review

I hear you, Pete. I needed to be wearing something more than jeans, and the price overcame my problem with the color -- they'll be fine in about 3 months! What do you wear during the summer?

Factors that Increase and Decrease Motorcyclist Crash Risk

You may be right, but... ...you might want to actually read the study, because some counter-intuitive -- and counter your own view -- results were put forth. For instance, I found it fascinating that they found urban settings REDUCED the likelihood of a crash or near-crash event significantly...

    Motonation Cappra Riding Pants Review

Asked a question a couple weeks back about Motonation's new Cappra riding pants and wound up buying a pair to check them out. (See http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?114029-Anyone-have-experience-(good-or-bad)-with-Motonation-gear if interested.) I promised a review and here...

Factors that Increase and Decrease Motorcyclist Crash Risk

Good stuff Now that they've got their methodology down, it would be great to see a wider study done (100 riders in this one); would be interesting to see 2- and 3-wheel bikes compared as well. Thanks for sharing that!

    Is it just me or???

Firefox! Liked the book (also titled Firefox) better than the movie, but I bet if they made the movie today it would be really impressive with the effects they could deliver 35 years later.

Kudos to Spyderpops & Squared Away

Quick Follow-up question Does the order of events matter? By that, I mean, if you install the anti-sway bar before the laser alignment is that better/worse than doing the alignment first? Thanks for humoring a total novice.

Anyone have experience (good or bad) with Motonation gear?

First impressions Received my order of the Cappra Vented Textile Pant today, and my first impressions are pretty favorable. They don't look or feel cheaply made - sturdy construction with regards to fasteners and zippers, and the fit is as advertised. They're definitely not overpants, but are...

    SENA BLUEOOTH INTERCOM

There's still a delay We're in the camp who just switch into intercom mode at the beginning of the ride. Combination of battery life and convenience. That said, to address your question, at least on the 20S there is still a delay for the intercom connection to occur -- it's typically more in...

help with Bluetooth sena 20s & Scala rider freecom 4

From the Sena help desk You've probably tried this already, but thought it would be useful to have it here for future reference by another SL: The 20S supports the Universal Intercom feature found in other Sena headsets. To pair the 20S to a non-Sena headset you will need to do the following...

Deadwood and the Chicken Fried Steak Tour

What a great tradition! Thanks for sharing the story behind your CFS tour -- there are a lot of contenders for best CFS down here in Texas, and of course they're the biggest as well... :D I'll think of you and your friend the next time I go to the Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls. Have a great...

BRP Connect is live in the app store

Breaking news: BRP Connect is made out of people! I'm bumping this long-dormant thread not to contest JayBros' answer, because I'm sure he's right, but I decided to just check out the BRP Connect app to see what all the fuss was about, and ran across this in their FAQ: Which Can-Am Spyder...

    Sena dilemma

+1 on Motorcycle Dave, but... ...fair warning that it may be tough to find a plain 20S model; I got mine on closeout a few months back and Dave had already sold through his. The 20S EVO is still available at a higher price. I've been happy with the 20S -- we're riding 2-up with it all the...
