• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Another Issue.... digital voltmeter

When you install a voltmeter using the pre-existing wiring you see the regulated voltage. If you want to be absolutely certain of the charging voltage run your meter through a relay connected to the regulated voltage as a trigger then go directly across the battery with a separate wire.

    FYI Valcourt Guide App updated

The android and apple(iOS) apps for the BRP homecoming have both been updated. If you have them the process should be automatic. When the BRP info for times and locations are known the app will be updated again. I know it's early but it is available now on the Play Store and App Store. Search...

    They were discontinued in 2013

Help who has had this problem

Check your battery connections, the DPS consumes the bulk of the electrical power used by the Spyder.

    Grease Fittings on 2010 RT

Yes, two on the bottom and I think four atop. Then three or four connectors.(fogs, horn and AAPTS sensor)

    Grease Fittings on 2010 RT

Removing the frunk isn't as daunting a task as it first seems. I find it easier than wrestle with the grease gun trying to get at the lower & inner ones (even with the 90 degree fitting) To each his own

Why is it every bike on the planet has a heated seat but the Spyder?

All of my spyders have had heated seats and/or backrests. If you have a BRP driver's backrest, putting a heating element in is a piece of cake. MotorCycle Dave can supply the element. My F3 only has the backrest heated and I don't think the seat is needed.

    13 RTLtd rear shock question

It is normal. The airbag is pumped up and deflated to keep a more or less constant ride height so road conditions and load can cause it to be active.

    myths and prejudices...

The Spyder is a snowmobile on wheels. It isn't a motorcycle, it isn't a SlingShot. It is another class of vehicle that returns an open road feeling to the people on the vehicle. It corners like a Spyder. It does not lean but requiures concentration from the Ryder to complete the turn. It's fun...

The world is getting to be really, really strange.

Recently I've been on one of my insomniac cycles. Typically they can last a month or more. A month with only catnaps. YouTube has accompanied me in this excursion into sleep deprivation. Every fringe group, or at least I call them fringe, has at least three people who can crank out videos...

BRP Spyder & Polaris SlingShot / Side by Side - Mike Mas

Nice write up. Other than counting the wheels and coming up with the same number I don't see much to be able to compare the two. It's a bit like comparing a Jeep and a Porsche because the wheel count is the same. The Porsche is crap at off roading while the Jeep rolls on turns. While I...

    Harley 2 front wheel trike

Yep. A bastardized HD trike without all that cumbersome nanny stuff has got to be way better than the BRP offerings. Given HD's exemplary history of engineering. Oh .... someone is telling me of the few .... uh mis -steps ... well I'm sure they fixed it all .... oh they didn't ... well I'm...

    Harley 2 front wheel trike

When you have two tires spaced 5.5 feet apart versus a single wide tire the front tends to stay planted while the rear wants to break free and pivot around the front. I can't see how leaning would alter the basic inequality of adhesion.

    Harley 2 front wheel trike

I don't think so. The VSS requirement comes from the huge difference of adhesion between the front and rear. Leaning might mitigate it some (the physics makes my head hurt) , but VSS would, IMHO, be needed for safety.
