• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Eclipse Reports - April 2024

My kids made the 400 mile trek to Azure Mountain Fire Tower in upstate NY, and said it was fantastic. I look forward to seeing their pix when they return.

How do you Jack up the rear tire to check for road debris in treads?

:agree: , sort of. Although I usually keep my parking brake engaged, I occasionally release it to roll the bike forward or backward to inspect the tires or position the valve stem for checking/adding air.

    New Year's Day Ride

Happy New Year Spyderlovers! Here in the mid Atlantic it was a decent enough day (47 degrees and cloudy) to get in my traditional New Year's Day ride. I participated with my club (Buffalo Soldiers MC) in a local, small town, New Year's Day parade. The kids and adults love seeing the motorcycles...

    Electric Spyder next?

I work for a small, family-owned, independent, used car dealership. The owner has been very reluctant to embrace EV's. But he is also a businessman and wants to survive and prosper. With the state mandate (Delaware and other states) towards increasing new EV sales and limiting new ICE (Internal...

    Electric Spyder next?

With the steady advancement in battery technology, that cost continues to go down. If the battery health on my Tesla Model Y goes below 70% during the warranty period (8yrs/120k miles) Tesla will replace it for free.

What Kind of Rider are you?

After riding many, many years in all types of weather (mostly on 2 wheels), I have evolved into a proud, fair weather rider, unless caught in unexpected foul weather. After investing in several pieces of heated gear, I finally came to the realization that I ride for fun, and riding when cold...

    Went To Buc-ee's in Atlanta!

Each one I stopped at between Tennessee and San Antonio also had 20+ Tesla Superchargers available. This was a great place to shop/eat/explore while charging up!

Automated mailed ticket.... But I wasn't there!

The same thing happened to my daughter on I95 in Maryland. There was no way to make out the picture of the bike and tag in the letter. According to the date of the alledged infraction, she was in the midst of an 8 week internship in Africa. The case was dismissed.

Will Using 87 Octane impact performance?

Mike, I don't disagree with you at all. But I doubt if my one example of "less than a full tank" of 87 provides much support for your position.

Will Using 87 Octane impact performance?

I wasn't paying close attention while filling up and mistakenly punched the button for regular rather than premium. I usually refuel with 2-3 bars left so it wasn't even a full tank of 87. There was no noticeable difference in performance. for the sake of reference, all of my riding has been...

Will Using 87 Octane impact performance?

I appreciate those who do the actual testing to help keep us all better informed about our rydes. As for me, I've had my '21 F3s for exactly three years this week. I only have about 7k miles on it, but a smile for each one. I've used 93 and 91 octane for every tank except one mistake at 87. I...

New SpyderExtras Rider - Any suggestions on mods?

+1 on the seat time. But when you're not out riding, spend a few hours reading this forum. A little research may save you a lot of time and $$$ on trial and error mods.

After that incident, I would think that one of the expenses for Day 9 would be for clean shorts! :yikes:

I put my Spyder to bed today, for A Long Winter's Sleep!

Prayers and best wishes to you Oldguy. The only time I ever put mine away for the winter was three years ago when I was down after prostate cancer surgery. That was probably one of the only times in the past 25 years that I didn't get to do a New Year's day ride. Here in the mid Atlantic, I can...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Cleaned T'Challa in preparation for the annual Delaware State University Homecoming parade Saturday morning. Our Buffalo Soldiers MC group of 50-75 motorcycles is usually a crowd favorite.

2023 RT exhaust sounds tinny - is this normal?

I installed the cat delete and chrome Akrapovic muffler. I love the look, but thought the sound was too loud at first. After a few months, I've come to love the sound. Either it quieted down a little, or I've lost a bit of my hearing. :yikes:
