• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are There Still People Out There Who Don't Think Helmets Are Necessary?

Thanks for the concern. Please look under Arkansas chapter "Ride of 16 June." My right leg is broken up pretty badly with plates and lots of screw in the fibula near the ankle and tibia broken at the knee. 12 weeks of zero weight on the foot. It was an accident in the parking lot as we were...

Are There Still People Out There Who Don't Think Helmets Are Necessary?

My wife and I will never ride again without a helmet on. I am typing this response from my bed in the hospital. I was wearing my helmet and distinctly remember the thud of my helmet hitting the pavement.

    June 16th Spyder Ride

Thanks again for the kind thoughts. Got a steel plate and a bunch of screws holding things together to aid in the healing process. Hope to go home late this evening or tomorrow. Pain management is the immediate concern for me. Folks will be giving me options today as no weight will permitted for...

    June 16th Spyder Ride

My wife, Charlene and I enjoyed our ryde today until the accident in Eureka Springs. Unfortunately Charlene hit the throttle instead of the brake. We have a cramp buster on the throttle due to my bad hand to help me. Well, as she got onto the curb the action threw her hand into the throttle...

    Is it just me?

I'm in the same shape and have handicapped plates on the Spyder and disabled veteran plates on the cages. What chaps my butt is when someone says, "What's wrong with you?" I have at times offered to show my scars (only have some 50 of them.) I'm sure Ron is joking, because he's a good guy.

    Helmet Strap Quick Releases?

I have the Echo on four helmets and like it. It does take a bit of getting used to when fastening it, just be sure to get it in properly instead of stuck. I also sew the excess material of the strap so it is not flopping around. My wife likes the standard system as it is on a helmet, but I am...

    Analog Tachometer intermittent

Twice so far in low temperatures I have had occurances of the analog tach failing to work. The first time it did not function until I stopped shutdown pulled the key and waited few seconds and then restarted and it worked properly. Today it functioned except about three grand less than it should...

    Sorry "old question" RTS throttle-body:

Mine failed on October 4th and was replaced on our 2011 RT Limited at about 5,600 miles.

Maybe good news for military retirees and SS

Nope. The wife took the list to Millington and they do not carry them, either. (I live 350 miles from the closest Naval Facility which is Millington.) I'll bet before long Express Scripts will be the rule just looking at the writing on the wall. I, too am looking closely at what McCain is...

    Got pulled over today!

In Arkansas you have to notify the officer that you have a Concealed Handgun License and you are carrying at the beginning of the contact. They have it on the computer, anyway. IMNSHO someone carrying legally has gone through the background checks and received training is not someone to be...

Do you cruise it , or pound it ?

I enjoy riding at speed, but when the wife is behind me I feel the slap and my head rattling inside of my helmet :lecturef_smilie: then a bit of back seat driver instruction. :gaah::roflblack::shemademe_smilie:

    Junk In The Trunk

:agree: Bare essentials other than clothing and iPod and garage door openers and a flashlight. If I breakdown I ain't kidding anybody when it comes to my lack of mechanical skills, especially with something as complex as the Spyder -- that's exactly why we bought the fancy warranty and have...

Maybe good news for military retirees and SS

I'll believe a raise when I see it deposited. Being classified at 100% disabled service-connected I still have six medications that the VA does not carry, so have to fight with Tricare (Tricare For Life) to authorize even though they are critical medications that should be provided by the VA...

New owner has question about front shocks

:agree: Call Len and he will set up your new shocks up. Best money we have spent on our Spyder so far next to the Corbin seats.

    Shock advice from Cowtown

Rick, I had the exact same experience with Len back in July. We had ridden to San Antonio in terrible wind and I hated the way our 2011 RTS Limited handled in the front end. I called Len and he went through the same with me. He had the shocks shipped and sitting there waiting for us when we...

    Twisties

We live in the twisties here, so have no choice in the matter. Anywhere we go we generally have twisties. The only exception is when we get to I-540 or I-40. Otherwise, here in Northwest Arkansas living near Highway 62 means a lot of curves and few straight stretches. Makes for very...

    HELP!!! NEED Immediate Feedback Please

Mine did all of that and some more last Tuesday on the screens and then the LCD just went blank. My dealer sent two technicians with the computer and a starter battery. Ultimately they found a loose connection on the battery, a blown 5 amp fuse, and a shorted wire in the harness before they...
