• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Drive or cvt belt

I have been trying to find the ryker 900 cvt belt with no luck. At the rate I am going I will at least need to check it in a few months. I will also need a manual. Can Am part prices are excessive in my opinion. I would like to comparison shop before I buy if possible.

    Will a windshield help?

The stock Ryker for $200. That was all I could find when I bought mine, but I think someone else is making a model for the Ryker now. I coldn't see riding without a windshield one you see how well they block the wind and can help you stay a little warmer.

    Will a windshield help?

Yes, i am not palatially fond of the looks of the ryker windshield. But it does it's job. 99 % of my riding is at highway speeds.

    Headlight flasher

I think flashing high beams is now illegal. I the old days at night you could flash the car or truck ahead of you, if they flashed it meant all clear to pass. There was a lot less traffic back then too.

    Check your Nuts

I have to agree, mine where no where near the 221lbs torque. They should not come loose with the retaining ring so I am guessing the dealer did not have a torque wrench that went that high. My socket (from same place)came with a free deodorant stick, had to laugh.

    Ride out

The Ryker has changed my life, I gave up 2 wheels but not the fun. I am at just over 6,000 miles. At 67 years old I feel like a kid again.

    Keeping it shiny

I live close to the ocean, salt is hard on everything. I got some w d 40 on the black plastic and like another person here it discolored the black plastic. I did some research online and I know use olive oil. I clean it good first. rub in a little olive oil. The black looks like new, the faded...

    Rykers Require 87 Octane - Not 92!

I stopped using 91 a long time ago but my mileage varies by more more than 10 mpg depending on temp humidity hills etc. I rarely hits 60 here but when I go into the valley it's hot and gas mileage improves.

    Wheel Nut Socket

The torque wrench came today, it's huge 24 1/2 /" and heavy. I have no doubt it will do the job. I t also came with a plastic case. The company I bought the socket from is slow to ship. I want to pull the wheels to clean them and put a protective finish on the wheels. Living 200 ft from the...

New oil change video just posted on YouTube for the Ryker

Amazon has there own brand, don't know who makes it but it meets all the specs and $30 for 6 qts delivered. I used to go brand specific but no point paying more than you need too. I can already hear the grumbling.

    Luvin every mile!

Having put almost 6,000 on my ace I know the feeling and agree 100%. Would be more but we have had a lot of rain. And on occasion I have to use my car to get groceries.

New oil change video just posted on YouTube for the Ryker

The manual says the 17mm first, if it makes any difference I don't know. I changed my oil yesterday and the bolts were almost loose, Also it did take more than the 3.4 qts than the manual says. But as others have said it is an easy job.Cost me about $35.00 with 5w- 40 oil from Amazon and filter...

New oil change video just posted on YouTube for the Ryker

The video at least shows the drain plugs, but there is a correct order to remove them. Also the manual say's 3.4 qts and not 3.7. Over filing can cause cavitation and let in air. The 2 bolts have torque values, maybe to make sure the crush gaskets set properly. I might change mine tomorrow if...

    Better brack pads

I quit like the brakes on my Ryker, I have had to make a few fast stops. They work well and not grabby or spongy. Could there be air in your brakes?

    Wheel Nut Socket

I'm unsure of the length but it is supposed to torque up to 300lbs.I have no trouble with 110 lug nuts and a shorter 1/2 torque but I guess I will find out. I will post the length when I get it.

    Evening Ride

The Oregon coast is full of pot holes and missing clean out covers in the roads here. I know where most of them are but must looks like a drunk swerving all over to miss them. Good thing the Ryker has quick steering.
