• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

It's just reflective tape on the fenders, and it's coming off!! Ideas?

Posted up about the TrikLED fender lights earlier. I've also got a "smart" brake light modulator coming that senses decel and flashes the lights then goes steady. Plan is to hook that into the brake light circuit, and drive the fender LED strips as well as the rear brake lights with that. Be a...

After suggestions on Cleaning black body parts?

Whatever you decide to try, DO a less visible area first and give it a while to see if it eats the plastic. I hate it when that happens. I'm a fan of Meguiar's quick detailing spray. Quick and clean. Cleans most everything and leaves no streaks. ** I'd personally avoid the risk of using a...

    Check out my Stereo system!

Tidy ... we should have a sound system sticky for whatever options folk have come up with. Working on an easy to use water resistant compact system here - hard part is finding something with a USB socket for a thumb drive (my go to music source is a thumb drive for MP3) and FM would be nice for...

Mouse setup shop in my ryker over the winter

Betcha them rotary valves would make quick work of anything organic, eh. (But I'd prefer to have somebody else test that theory.) Best o'luck, eh. PS - I've noticed I'm saying "eh" a lot since getting a Canadian bike. Wazzup wit dat, eh? I'll have to think on that while eating my kraft dinner...

Mouse setup shop in my ryker over the winter

Here's my Virago after first start - what you don't see is about a pound per pipe of bird seed that shot out a few feet peppering anything behind the bike. Those megaphones can hold a LOT of crap.

Mouse setup shop in my ryker over the winter

Eh ... it's just your nuts rattling ... happens to all of us eventually ... <G> Bigger chunks in the muffler would generally burn out eventually. If you see little puffs of smoke, that's probably mouse cremation in progress. Better safe than sorry though. And if it's going to the shop, I'd...

Weak brakes! Stock Ryker brakes suck - Any other calipers fit?

Not looking for OMG I"M GONNA DIE! braking - just something that feels "right" for want of a better word. The pads as mentioned are a BIG improvement, smooth but solid. Next step, being the rotors if they're available. LaMonster lists them at $200 a pair for the Spyder ... I dropped an email...

Ryker 900 first oil change: debris in filter housing

Good reason to get that initial service out of the way. Not uncommon to find some industrial leftovers, and the earlier you catch any such suckage, the easier to limit any damage AND get it covered under warranty. Just got my 900 Ace back from the shop with a clean bill of health. That said...

Mouse setup shop in my ryker over the winter

If it's blowing crap first start, I'd assUme they made themselves to home in the muffler. Real common - My trusty old Virago had up swept pipes that would hold a LOT of garbage and send rooster tails of it on start up and spit seeds for the first few miles in the spring. Got in the habit of...

Weak brakes! Stock Ryker brakes suck - Any other calipers fit?

Not to get ahead of ourselves here, but. Just installed the EBC pads all around, and without ever proper bedding (not that many miles on the rotors anyway) difference was immediately apparent. One happy camper if this is as good as they get. Only complaint with the EBC pads is they throw a lot...

Weak brakes! Stock Ryker brakes suck - Any other calipers fit?

Just the ability to adjust pedal pressure would be a BIG help. One nice OEM touch is the brake lines. Don't look like they'd have much expansion under load like the old rubber balloons I regularly had to replace with braided SS lines so half the pedal pressure didn't have to go to inflating...

Weak brakes! Stock Ryker brakes suck - Any other calipers fit?

Only real difference between the two is the boiling point, so dot 5.1 will suck just as bad under normal operating conditions. The stock brakes will suck just as bad until failure. The operative word here would be "suck" with either fluid. After driving with real brakes on other bikes, I'd...

Weak brakes! Stock Ryker brakes suck - Any other calipers fit?

Stock brakes suck. There, I've said it ... Big improvement after replacing the stock pads with EBC green sintered shoes, but ... Any other calipers fit? PS - I cooked the stock brakes on my Yamaha Royal Star first time thru the Tail of the Dragon. Replaced those with R6 calipers and a Honda...

Which Ride On should I use - car type or motorcycle type?

    Thing to remember is that you can't mount a MOTORCYCLE tire on a Ryker rim ... use only the OEM Ryker "specials" ... or any road rated CAR tire that will fit. read read read ... Yup ... what I said. ;-}

Which Ride On should I use - car type or motorcycle type?

Couple of cautions ... - Check the shelf life. Stuff's rated good for maybe 5 years, and that's debatable. Keep in mind, the shelf life starts when the product is manufactured, so DO check the date on the bottle. - DO use the bike version as it's more viscous and tends to seal faster if...

Traffic Light Road Sensor and the Ryker

Reminds me of when headlight modulators were first made legal here in the states. Of course, I was pulled over regularly (some local PD were just looking for an excuse anyway) until word got around. Always one to plan ahead, I'd popped out my wallet size copy of the new DOT reg and the ones that...

Traffic Light Road Sensor and the Ryker

Never had that happen with my other bike ... ;-} Also depends on how pressed I am for time and how ornery I'm feeling. One intersection always got me, I've been known to just sit there, crank up the jams, and let traffic stack up behind me. We can only hope the Pearly Gates has one and fails...

My 2022 Ryker keys are interchangeable...

    Sure there's a key - it's just a weird key. <G> Legacy of snowmobiles I guess. Not as practical as my old Ford key though. :-}

My 2022 Ryker keys are interchangeable...

Brings to mind a myriad of questions keeping in mind that I've never tried starting mine without a key so can't say as to whether the key needs direct contact with the socket to work. If it does, ignore the following! What's the spec'd coupling distance from the chassis socket for the "key" to...

It's just reflective tape on the fenders, and it's coming off!! Ideas?

Just picked up some of these from TricLED ... they're supposed to be an easy install and should certainly improved visibility both front and rear. They're 5v (USB power) so I might even be able to use the same harness to fire a couple helmet brake lights? Those work on any decel without...
