• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Planning two rides for 2018, Arizona and Four Corners

US Highway 2 (Seattle to UP Michigan) in June, weather? Was hoping for comments about average weather conditions along US 2 in June. While I have not yet developed any kind of timeline for the trip, I'm thinking that may be early June or so when we will be in northwest Washington and ready to...

Planning two rides for 2018, Arizona and Four Corners

Thanks for the comments Thanks for the comments given at this point. I kind of thought that the California south to north run was going to offer challenges. The suggested alternative route will be considered as we have driven the PCH from Los Angeles to Monterey (back in 2000 and in a car)...

Planning two rides for 2018, Arizona and Four Corners

February We will leave Ohio January 25th and get into Las Cruses, NM, on the 29th. Will leave Las Cruses on the 31th for Apache Junction. Renting a home there for the month. No specific plans for the run back home, but it will not be direct. So we will miss the Tombstone ride in. :banghead:

Planning two rides for 2018, Arizona and Four Corners

Currently we have 40,000+ miles on our 2014 RT Ltd. In 2017 we rode down to Nashville to get on the Natchez Trace, rode it to Natchez, MS, then on down to Louisiana, east to Mobile then north back home (central Ohio). 2,100+ miles and a great trip. That was in May. In September we rode north to...

A Arm Bushings - can I do it? Any video of it being done??

How was it shown to you? I have a 2014 RT Ltd with 39,000 miles. I would like to assess my front suspension bushings before I trailer it to Arizona in February. I have put the bike up on my 4-post lift and then used a floor jack under the outer strut of the frame to raise the front wheel off...

    Spyder Lovers Chapter of OHIO

Pataskala, just east of Columbus We just returned from a 1,600 mile trip that included the Great Lakes Seaway Trail and a ride through the Adirondacks. Two full days of rain but that comes with the territory. We generally ride alone as we enjoy riding without a set destination or time. 2014 RT...

Uneven brake pad wear, rear Brembo on 2014 RT Ltd - Part 1 & 2

Part 2 So I removed the rusty lower pin with a 5 mm hex wrench. Wire brushed the rust off. Then cleaned it and its opening in the mounting block with rust cleaned. Finally I ran it through my ultrasonic and rinse it all off with brake cleaner. After a thin coat of Wurth CU1800...

Uneven brake pad wear, rear Brembo on 2014 RT Ltd - Part 1 & 2

Here is what I found when I changed rear brake pads on our 2014 RT Ltd. One edge measures about 1.5 mm thick while the other edge is about 3.5 mm thick. Suspecting that one of the two sliding pins was hung up and causing this problem, I decided to pull the caliber down again and separate the...

    ACS Rebuild

Our 2014 RT Limited's ACS system started giving us problems about a week ago. Started out with the compressor making quite a racket each time it ran and it was running very frequently. When we returned home I checked the pressure in the system via the schrader valve under the seat. Now this was...

    Idiots in Cages

Dashcam opportunity Sure would have been nice if a dashcam would have caught that act. Lucky so far, but I have mounted the INNOVV K1 dashcam to capture such idiot moves. Hopefully I never will. Hope your repairs go easily.

    It's Becoming Clear To Me...

Reliable Our 2014 RTL is our second Spyder (first was a 2012 RTL, bought the 2014 for the ACE 1330 engine specs) and we ride them practically everywhere (47,000 miles clocked between the two of them). We have not experienced any major problems and concerns regarding reliability is not a factor...

Video: INNOVV K1 2-channel Dashcam (front and rear lens)

Thanks tip. We're leaving Thursday for a run down the Natchez.Trace and on to New Orleans. Hopeful were will be no need to review the videos this system will capture, unless for scenic memories. Thank you Buckeye Bleau. It was a fun project and I was thankful that all went pretty smooth.

Video: INNOVV K1 2-channel Dashcam (front and rear lens)

Wanted a dashcam that would record front and rear views of entire day trips. Documentation in the case of an incident, not really to record specific rides, but will do that of course. Thought others may like to see how I installed the INNOVV K1 (www.innovv.com/the-k/) dashcam on our 2014 RT...

Part 2 Install of INNOVV K1 2 channel dashcam Hope this may be of value to others considering this system and provide some hints on, at least, what I did for the install. I am very happy with the performance that I have seen so far. With two other riders, did a 95 mile day trip yesterday...

Distortion & audio I think it is mostly from the conversion to YouTube accepted format. Th only thing I noticed was the periphery of the fish eye view is a bit out of focus. The unit does capture audio but with the mic in the DVR unit and with the DVR mounted under the seat in my case, the...
