• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is Running Diesel Oil in Your Spyder such a good idea?

That's an interesting theory, and I generally prefer to stick to the same oil in an engine over time, I think the gradual change may cause problems with conflicting additives. I'd rather get the old oil out as much as possible and make the switch in one oil change.

Is Running Diesel Oil in Your Spyder such a good idea?

Lake Speed Jr., The Motor Oil Geek, is probably the most knowledgeable person on earth when it comes to lubrication. I watch his videos often, and I never fail to learn something. I watched that video a couple days ago, and the issue is diesel oil necessarily has much higher detergent levels to...

Our next toy? - Check out this Kawasaki concept

It has a small piston engine running on hydrogen. Just carry a spare jug of hydrogen and you'll be fine. 🤣 Who can tell me if a hydrogen truck gets heavier or lighter when it's loaded? ;)

What did you do to your Spyder today?

No idea if the heated grips are the same diameter, but if they fit, they'd probably insulate the heat from reaching your hands.

Any Way to disable VSS/Traction control or severely dumb it down?

BUDS has a dyno mode to allow for testing, but as soon as the front wheel speed exceeds a few MPH it disengages. That does give me another idea though, perhaps disconnecting both front sensors would allow it to stay in dyno mode, but would likely need to be re-engaged after every start cycle...

Any Way to disable VSS/Traction control or severely dumb it down?

I'm still looking for a way to selectively disable traction control and VSS on my 2015 F3S SM6. I haven't found a way to do it with BUDS or the Dynojet PV4. I'm thinking of the possibility of adding a switch to connect the rear wheel speed sensor to one of the fronts, making the ECU think the...

    Buying used - 2015 Spyder F3-S - is this milage/usage a concern?

I bought my 2015 F3S in Oct. 2024. I found it on FB Marketplace for $8k. It had 9700 miles, near perfect condition, and ran fine on the test drive. Also had documentation of the front pulley recall being done, a nice F4 windshield and BRP removable backrest, and a newer AGM battery that had...

Ordered the Clutch assist kit from BRP

Thanks Peter, that was my thought as well, which is why I continued that thread. Even though some of the original participants may not be around, perhaps there are others who have either done this mod, or may be thinking about it.

Any time the throttle is closed vacuum is strong. There isn't a harness for the solenoid to plug into, or is there an existing connector in the original harness?

Engine smoking and burning lots of oil - anyone pulled an engine?

Thanks for that bit of info. I'll have to check that out. If the output is available to control the solenoid, I'll have to look into that. A lighter clutch lever would make it more enjoyable to ride. (y)

My '21 S2S rattles quite badly for a few seconds after ~5 months layup start - any way to spin the motor without starting?

That's not how I read RTFM. LOL This is common on EFI vehicles. Try it on your car sometime. My 2015 does not light the oil light before cranking. That concerned me at first, and I still don't like it, but it seems to be normal for these bikes. I added an oil pressure gauge anyway.
