• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thinking of getting a floor jack - how hard is it to find the right place to lift?

The park brake only locks the rear. If your floor is level, chocks aren't necessary for just adding air. If you're on an uneven surface, even a couple pieces of 2x4 will work. Check your frame clearance. If it's over 3.5" this jack should work...

Need to replace 2013 left lower side panel - can't get my Lava Bronze color, only Black. Any suggestions?

If the color doesn't clash, you could consider replacing both panels with black. However, I do know the cost of these parts is pretty high, for some inexplicable reason. It may be easier to find used panels in black on eBay.

Thinking of getting a floor jack - how hard is it to find the right place to lift?

These things are light. Get the lowest profile aluminum floor jack you can find. I have a 3,000 pound one that I use at the racetrack, and it works great for the spyder. Go in from the left side and place it at the rear end of the central frame to raise the rear, or just behind the front...

Does anyone leave the parking brake off during winter storage? And some rodent protection discussion...

Thanks, Tom, for that very educational post. I live in VA, and I also have a motorhome, as well as several classic cars, in addition to my Spyder and other equipment. Rodents are always a concern. Would you mind sharing the particular rat zapper you use, as well as the best methods for...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Look up LaMonster's video on YouTube. It's a very simple procedure to reset.

09 Spyder GS lost key - is it possible to program new keys to the Spyder?

That will store the first key. You'll need a Red Master key to store any additional keys.

09 Spyder GS lost key - is it possible to program new keys to the Spyder?

If the existing key you have has a chip for the pre-2014 bikes, you'll only need one more key to get up and running. Buy the DESS module and one additional key. Have that key cut to match the one you have. When you first use that key to start the bike, the new DESS module will recognize that...

What is your opinion on the plastic oil pump gears?

That might work, but the factory engineers chose nylon for a reason. Likely, it's to reduce inertia and harmonic vibrations. I don't think I'd be second-guessing them on a critical engine component without proper testing.

09 Spyder GS lost key - is it possible to program new keys to the Spyder?

Thanks. Mine is a 2015, so I'm mainly concerned with what works on my application. I'm willing to help others whenever I can. (y)

09 Spyder GS lost key - is it possible to program new keys to the Spyder?

I have BUDS1 with the Megatech license. I know I can add and delete keys. I only got one key with my Spyder. It had two keys programmed. I bought a new key online, had it cut and I programmed it to my bike without any problems. IIRC, I did not need to have the working key in the ignition to...

G'day from Down Under - what to look for in a high milage Spyder?

I can't really add to what Peter said. An SE model makes a lot more sense considering your situation. Good luck, and I hope you can find a good deal on a nice bike. These things really are fun to ride.

G'day from Down Under - what to look for in a high milage Spyder?

I'd test ride first, and make sure you can shift comfortably. I assume you have a prosthetic leg?

Anyone tried a Ramp for the rear wheel to make adding air easier?

I think people are making WAY too big an issue about this subject. For street riding, I doubt anyone here could even detect a 3 or 4 psi difference in tire pressure, and it's certainly not going to result in a catastrophic tire failure. On most of my street cars, I run about 10% over the factory...
