• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    This weather is killing me.

Beautiful riding weather here; unfortunately Ed's in the hospital with a fever following his last chemo session. They just pumped another 2 units of red cells in him so hopefully he'll be up to riding later in the week. I've done a few rides with the Patriot Guard without him...even had a...

Hugely disappointed in BRP - Spyder five now Spyder three.

I always thought it would be kind of neat to have the ambassadors rotate on a yearly basis so more of us could experience the "celebrity life"; however, it is a bummer to hear our Spyder Five is now the Spyder Three. We hope to see Mickey and Faran at upcoming Spyder events.

    He did it!

Thought I'd let everyone know that Erags has finally done it...finished his chemo (8 rounds of an aggressive regimen), with no sign of his lymphoma on his most recent testing.:2excited::yes: We're figuring on one more overnight admission for transfusions, most likely in about a week, then...

    Wifey expressed interest

I wanted the SE5 transmission, not because I couldn't shift this thing, but so I wouldn't have to be thinking through all the things involved in shifting plus all the things about staying safe on a motorcycle with all the crazy drivers in cars out there! I figured my brain cells would be put to...

    Wifey expressed interest

That's the route a lot of us have taken...riding the Spyder without previous motorcycle experience. (Probably makes it easier to adjust to the difference between riding 2 wheels and 3 wheels if you don't have to unlearn the 2 wheel lessons)! She'd probably prefer the ST or RT, although some of...

Magog,CA Spyderfest 2013 any details yet?

I think it's actually hosted by the Spyder Club of Quebec (not quite sure if that's the official name), rather than BRP. I'll look in my old papers from two years ago to see if I can find an email address. There are some beautiful rides up there...lovely countryside but pretty bumpy roads.

    Rear Tire Wear

We've been averaging about 16,000 miles on our RS rear tires, (with most of those miles with 2 up) but our first tire was really bald when it was replaced. :yikes: With 33k on the Spyder now, the replacement rear tire is sitting in the garage waiting for Ed to finish his chemo before he can...

    Driver Backrest

Our '08 has the Ultimate seat and backrest...love them. Will probably put a Utopia backrest on my '12 RT since I'm happy with the seat that's on it. Will switch to an Ultimate seat and backrest when I need a new seat. They've got excellent customer service.

    Check out this bike

I received an email today with this bike :yikes: in it today...have any Indiana riders seen it recently? It looks like it would be pretty interesting to ride.

    I did it!

I finally did it...hit the 5000 mile mark! Less than 4 months after getting my motorcycle endorsement. Woohoo!:2excited: It looked like I was going to be a little short when we were approaching the house, so I had Ed go on home while I rode around...in circles. (well, not really, but...

Trailer to tow RT Limited behind motorhome

We've got a toyhauler so we haven't had to use our 7 x 10 V-nose enclosed trailer when we've been traveling with one Spyder. Now that we've got two Spyders Ed is planning on towing the trailer behind the RV. I haven't talked him into driving the RV while I ride the Spyder. I don't know...

Spyderfest "Twisted Sisters Ladies Ride" - to Prescious Moments Chapel

So does this mean if we're on the ladies ride we aren't going to be zooming around? :cus: How are you going to hold back Faran and Flamingobabe? :hun: Maybe there should be a fast ladies ride and a slow ladies ride.

Planning a trip to Niagara Falls/need your input

Definitely take the Spyder. Ed and I spent 4 days camping near Niagara Falls on the US side, and crossed the border every day. We crossed over at all three bridges and didn't have trouble at any of them. Folks were quite friendly; no trouble crossing the border at all (as earlier post said...

Of course, Bob  ..that goes without saying! :ohyea:Ditto for Kris!

    Our bikes disagree about everything!

Well, at least Ed's bike and the GPS tend to be on the same speed. The RT tends to be about 2 mph slower (I guess I'd rather have it making me think I'm going faster than I really am, than the other way around, though...particularly if there is a LEO in the speed discussion). When we are...
