• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Question for the American Spyderlovers

Our RT has 3261 miles (compared to Ed's GS with just under 32,000); not too bad for 8 weeks. The BRP paperwork says the pins are for 5000, 25000 and 100000 kilometers but I guess I'll stick with the consensus opinion and wait till I hit 5000 miles. I consulted a km/mile conversion chart and...

    2008 - 2012 Spyder fire risk recall

Further down in the first article is a link to the U.S. recall: http://blog.motorcycle.com/2012/12/20/manufacturers/can-am/2008-2012-can-am-spyder-fuel-vapor-leak-recalls-expands-to-us/ Looks like there are GS/RS's and RT's in the US recall.

Wow...our two bikes (and house) are in the video around the 22 second mark! Pretty neat video, with lots of beautiful scenery. Thanks for posting. :2thumbs:

Communicating with Jan on a new RT Limited

We use Vega V-Comm wireless helmets...we can talk bike to bike as long as we're within 1500 ft of each other. Has bluetooth, etc. Previously used J&M Audio wired system when we were on the same bike. I'd have to say I prefer wireless over wired.

    Insurance Costs for a new RT-S SE-5.

We're paying $1070/year to Progressive for our 2012 RT and 2008 GS/RS...the RS is $320/yr, with the RT being the rest. (We get discounts for multi-vehicles and safe driving records). Your location in S FL is probably a lot of the higher cost since we're in the Panhandle. We're shopping around...

You would post this video the day after Ed picked up the Harbor Freight lift...now I'm seeing a return in the near future. Thanks for posting!

    Question for the American Spyderlovers

Did you send off for your 5k, 25k, etc pins when you hit 5000 miles or kilometers? (Did you even send off for it at all?) The Welcome Packet says kilometers, but Erags thought we should stick with miles since that's what we use in the States. I think he just wants me to wait longer! LOL. I...

    Corbin versus Ultimate Seat

We just love the Ultimate seat we put on Ed's RS (after over 20,000 miles on the stock seat). The backrests are wonderful and we both felt great after riding, even when it was a 350+ mile day. Rain covers protect everything in inclement weather. One of the guys we ride with has a Day Long...

    CHRISTMAS WISH!

A long-lasting remission for Erags...on second thought, since I've only got one wish....a complete CURE!

Welcome back, Spyderlover. Hope you love your RT as much as we're lovin' ours! Can't wait to see a picture of your new ride.

    I was outnumbered

You'd have to ask the Whites about the trailer, Harry, as it belonged to them. As I recall, it came with the Goldwing when they bought it. (Ed was talking about it on our way home; it was a nice looking trailer).

    Plug for our SpyderLovers sponsors

:agree: Looking at my checkbook, I think Erags and I have been doing more than our fair share of support lately! It's time for the rest of you to step up to the plate! On a more serious note, thanks to you, Lamont, for lining up such a great group of sponsors and thanks to them, for providing...

Our local PGR group shows support for Erags

I purchased some lymphoma bracelets to hand out to the folks walking with me at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Light the Night Walk earlier this month. I brought some leftover bracelets to one of our PGR missions and gave them to the ride leaders. They asked me to order enough for rest of the guys...

WHY I JOINED the PATRIOT GUARD RIDERS

Ed (Erags) and I (DocRags) joined the PGR about a year ago. I had seen something about the PGR and told him I thought we should look into it. He is a 22 yr. veteran of the US Navy; I am not a veteran but my dad and two brothers served in the military. Our local group is reportedly the 2nd...

    COVER WHAT

Wal-mart sells a large motorcycle cover (cost around $20) that works well to cover our RS with saddlebags and rear trunk, so it would probably fit an RT. Never tried it on the RT since the Limited came with a travel cover.
