• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Changed front pads and rotors and brake pedal is soft when riding

I just changed out the front brake pads and rotors on a 14 LTD and when it is just sitting in the garage it is fine, when I start to drive the pedal goes way down and the brake failure light comes on. If I pump the pedal it brakes just fine. Any suggestions?

DESS ERROR ON SCREEN WONT START

Thought mine was fixed I posted in another thread that my dealer reprogramed the keys and I had not had a problem in 7k miles. Well last week on a 7 day trip just outside of Zion park shut the bike off while my friend got gas.....Low and behold DESS error. Would not start no matter what I...

To Steve (BRPcare) about DESS issues

For what it is worth I had the problem last year. I was getting the DESS error everyday. Depending how long I was out riding it would happen frequently. I took the bike to the dealer and they said there were currently 32 unrecognized key errors present. Before they were going to replace...

Installed the SpyderPops skid plate today

I put the bumpskid on and the temperature on the display is the same as it was before I put it on about 10 or more degrees hotter than acutal. I did install an aftermarket guage that reads very accurate. Willy

Mine was wearing the exact same way as the photos above. took it to the dealer and they said the alighnment was per the book when i bought ( March 2012) it and was still at that measurement. They indicated that the allignment has changed to s 2 to 3 mm toe in instead of 0 mm toe in or out...

Replacing analog fuel/termp guages with amp meter/oil temp-pressure guages

I do understand the "correct" (from the battery) way to install the guage. I am a little confused as to how much difference this makes. When I got the guage before I installed it I connected it to the battery and it read 12.8 on and 14.6 running. I connected it to the 12v wire in the dash and...

NEW TIRES AND WHEELS ON 2013

Not sure where conservation came from as it was never in my thought process. I am glad you are over joyed and do not want to apparently sit in the saddle for more than 100 to 150 miles. Some of us who tour would like to (not saying you do not tour). If you have ever ridden a Three Flags rally...

NEW TIRES AND WHEELS ON 2013

I like the ride as much as anyone... ( at least I think I do) someone please correct me. I do believe that the gas mileage is horrible. As I have been told many times... do the math... When you are on a long trip and get 50 or 60 miles less to a tank the total cost of the trip goes up quite a...

    Pakit Rak

I have been using the pakit rak since 2004 on wings, my vision and my spyder since 2011. It is a really great accessory. It gives just enough room to make a 2 week trip manageable, for me and 1 week for both of us. Great company, great service. I had a weld break on the original mounting bar...

The new 2013 Spyder RT ST and RS

Yawn While I understand the changes Lamont mentioned I do not see better mpg or performance. Must just be me but I am not all that excited about the new models. Yes, they look cool, but I fear the same old issues as before. I will have to wait and see what real life does bring out...

    Diamond R

Thanks Bob, But the post above is rack and bag... just wondered what the combo deal might be. Usually a bag made for the rack works the best. Willy OOPs... just read through the whole thread and got the bag price.... Thanks much Willy

Do you mind?? Thanks for sharing, could you post a couple of pictures of the rack and bag... And not to pry but a ball park figure on the $$ would be great. Thanks Willy Also... so as it didn't sound so bad, I meant the title to say Do you mind me asking.... came across kinda rough.... Willy

    California Scientific Windshield

I really like the look of the shield. Question:: Didn't BRP cut the width of the shield in 11 to increase MPG? I thought the original was wider and they made it a little bit narrower.... Someone here will know. If that is the case, does the new wider shield cut down on MPG's?? Willy

    RT Lacking Top End Power

That is funny... and somehow true.... I always tell people it is just like a Cadilac Escalade, only it has a Chevy Cobalt engine. WAY underpowered. Even at 65 or 70 the gas mileage is not what it should be for a TOURING machine. I understand that a bunch are satisfied and have sayings like...

    RT Vibration continues

While I completely understand what you are saying..... I had a 2011 RTS that I put almost 13000 miles on before it had electrical problems, and now have a 2012 Limited that I have about 10000 miles on and neither have had a problem with the seat.... Just saying..... I know some have.... but the...

Anyone bought the chrome handlebar cover off of ebay (plastic cover)

I asked the same question about a year ago and no one seemed to have the problem with the BRP handle bar "cover", or at least never responded. I use the KewlMetal GPS mount, (I like it better than the BRP mount that came with the limited) so I am sure it will work. I am getting the part today...

    RT Vibration continues

I have ridden a ton of machines and both of my RT's had vibration that none of the others had, including harley belt drives and my Vic Vision belt drive. On my first one the vibration occurred at about 6000 rpm through about 6300 rpm. It is a vibration that is so different than the v twin...
