• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Troubling and baffling problem in the "drive line".

2014 RT-S SE6 I have a problem where occasionally but, not always, when I leave my house the Spyder will produce a really loud knock or bang that can be felt through the whole bike. The bike actually feels like the chassis was hit with a hammer. The sound is like a really hard shift but...

I wonder if it would be more prudent to cut those red wires or just leave them connected? As stated in my reply to WasWinger, they go directly from the male to the female of the "Y" connectors. I could imagine that they would tell the "nanny" that a wiring harness has been installed but since...

The two red wires are very short and connect male "J" to female "J" and male "K" to female "K" DIRECTLY. NEITHER went to the isolator/9-pin connector. I'm not sure if the older trailers had back up lights or not but for some reason the pink/beige (backup lights) from the mail "Y" connector did...

Yes, and there were two very short red wires (20AWG) about 3" or 4" long which pass through from one of the "Y" connectors to the other that are not used for trailer wiring functions either. I'm not sure if they serve any function on the Spyder or not....I'm sure they are there for some reason...

OK. I found a wiring color issue! Remember that my RT-S is a 2014 but, the "Y" harness I am using is has a sticker indicating it was made in 2010. Pin "H" which should be coming from the battery is listed on the 2014 as Orange with a Violet tracer (and it is) however, the 16 AWG wire on the "Y"...

Thank you. I'll take that as "gospel" until someone proves otherwise! Too bad they didn't keep the trailer harnesses/connections the same for all those years!

I am not sure that the pinout and colors would be the same on a 2011. They COULD be....but, I just wouldn't bet on it because I just don't know anything about the earlier models!

OK. So, for anyone who wants to hook ANY applicable wiring harness into the 2014 Spyder RT-S, here is some help. The connecter into which you install the "Y" harness is connector CIC2 (Cargo Inter Connector 2) CIC2 is located in "Zone 7" which is under the left rear of the seat and behind the...

2014 RT-S Baja Ron (anti) Sway Bar and Spring Adjuster Install Tips and Reviews

I just hope it's helpful. I waited a long time to even do the projects because I thought I would have to remove the frunk but alas, I did not! I should mention that both of the upgrades took about 2 hours. I was in no hurry and took a few air-conditioning and hydration breaks!

2014 RT-S Baja Ron (anti) Sway Bar and Spring Adjuster Install Tips and Reviews

This past weekend I installed the Baja Ron shock spring adjusters and the B/R (anti) sway bar with the aluminum end links onto my 2014 RT-S. First a few tips and first with the spring adjusters: I thought I might have to remove the frunk because the assembler (dealer) had put the top shock...

2014 RT-S BRP trailer wiring advice/ or part number needed

I wondered where that large module with the isolator was supposed to be mounted. I think you and I are on the same page. I wonder too if the module I have is the problematic one but, it's worth a gamble before cutting out the good parts of the "Y" connector and going with a different isolator...

2014 RT-S BRP trailer wiring advice/ or part number needed

My aversion to this way is that the 9-pin connector also IS the isolator. Cutting that off means no isolation of the trailer from the Spyder doesn't it? I actually am thinking of something totally different.....I am thinking now of mounting the "Y" harness I have exactly like it is. I have...

SO....I'll need the Big Bike kit, and then I must still get a 5 to 4 wire converter and then the plug ends? I'm starting to think I should have bought the Corvette!

2014 RT-S BRP trailer wiring advice/ or part number needed

I should clarify. For the $429.00.....NO installation was discussed! I was told that was the price to BUY the "Y" connectors, the isolator, and the harness to go from the isolator to the back of the bike! After paying the $429, I was going to have to install it myself. Also, I looked at the...

2014 RT-S BRP trailer wiring advice/ or part number needed

Now I know why almost every one of you who replied, suggested making everything a flat 4-pin connection! The local Spyder shop says BRP wants $429.00 for the "Y", isolator, and wiring harness from the isolator to the 4-pin square socket! YIKES! I'm left with 2 choices: 1. Install the 9-pin...

OK....so the left side of your home built harness......are those the same connectors I am holding in my hand in my pictures? Update with pictures! OK. I have read all of the posts. I do not want to change anything on or about the trailer. It is a totally stock, brand new, never been licensed, 0 mile, cognac color RT-622 trailer with a factory, SQUARE, 4-pin connector. I do not want to change it to a flat-4 nor a...

First, a HUGE thank you to all of you who are trying to help. Thank you Bob. I checked it out but didn't see that this harness has the 4-pin square mate to the connector on the 2014 RT-622 trailer. 2014 RT-S BRP trailer wiring advice/ or part number needed

I own a 2014 RT-S. I purchased an older (I was told 2013), used Can Am RT hitch. As I understand it, the mechanical part will work OK. Is that true? The wiring harness with that older hitch has a 9-pin round connector. It wasn't a big deal at the purchase time because I COULD have ended up with...
