• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Homecoming stuff

So I went to the Homecoming. A couple of days ago Can-Am sent a email that they still have tee shirts and patches for sale with free shipping. I try to place an order and the slot for your country is a click list. No United States or America and no way to type it in that I could find...

    Americade 2017

According to a pin, I was there in '88, and maybe before that too. Anyway it's rare that I miss a year. I always have a good time so no complaint about $10 for the Expo. The street scene on Canada St. has sure changed over the years, and I like it. Quite a show. I had the Wizard do a pin...

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

Red Sled. But reading Mister P's, Fat White Chick reminded me of when I had a Ducati, that was like dating an Italian supermodel. Oh, my wife hated that bike.

Was I asking for too much?

Considering that LED's are said to have such a long life expectancy, no I don't think you were asking to much after only a year. I was at Americade around five years ago and a guy comes up to the Bull Dog lift people to say that the pump on his older lift was starting to leak. Before he even...

    trailers, towing

I have a Bushtec, Roadstar model trailer that I have pulled many miles with my Harley, and now setting up for my RT/S. What surprised me was according to published specs my Bushtec weights 75 lbs. less than the Can-Am trailer, both with appx. 20 sq. ft. storage. The RT pulls it like a dream...

Yet Another Helmet Question: Proper Fit?

OK, I have a long oval head with kind of a rounded right angle bend in the right side crown area. I have never in over 50 years of riding found a helmet that fit. Every one I had to modify, mostly that right front/side area. Years ago I used a grinder to cut away the hard foam. The downside...

    Another Helmet Question - D-Rings.....

Retired police sergeant and would never use a quick release. D rings all the way, because they work. I've scraped up those who have had a quick release failure. Just sayin', do what you want.

Virginians going to 10th Anniversary Homecoming

I'm going there from the Winchester, VA. area and taking two days depending on weather etc. Riding up with Navy9 who's in Florida right now but lives a block away. No plans set on the overnight stop yet. But planning three days in Canada, then a day in Stowe and three more at Americade. Then...

    your gear and cost

Hey, I wash the damn suit every five years or so. Whether it needs it or not.

    your gear and cost

I don't worry about the cost for high end gear. It's there for the long run. I have a pair of BMW touring boots made by Sidi. They are 18 years old with at least 200,000 miles on them. I've had them re-soled three times. A 20 year old Aerostich Roadcrafter 2-piece that I still use mainly for...

    Question about Corbin Seats

I've had two Corbins, both on Beemers that I bought used. The first was for an K 75 RT. I put 35,000 miles on that seat and it never did "break in". It was very uncomfortable. The next was on a 650 Dakar. While that seat never broke in either, it was comfortable. If the shape fits your...

    After Homecoming The ride home

Blue Knight, Rt. 17 is on the agenda for Monday morning, I'll be going east to west this time. I'm glad to hear that the west side has been paved. The tar snakes on that road have been bouncing my front end out from under me for years. That was on various bikes. This will be a first on the...

    After Homecoming The ride home

Deanna, I know Rt.108 very well. The trouble is Navy9, aka Gator, will be following me. If he gets distracted will he "find" that VW size rock in the middle of the Notch? I was disappointed to learn that the Shed was sold. I first started eating there in 1967. That was when it was nothing...

    After Homecoming The ride home

I'm taking a very short ride to Stowe, VT. to show my buddy some old haunts and roads to ride. I was a bit of a ski bum in the '60's. Then heading south, taking a ferry to 9N and down to Lake George for Americade for the next few days. Americade is always a good time. The action on Canada...

    spring trip

Memphis is a great time, you must hit Beale St. Take the tour of Gibson Guitar and Sun Studio. Also Memphis is quite dangerous more than a block or so from Beale. Free bus from Beale to Sun, do not walk. You can pick up the bus just across the street from Gibson. I start on Beale around 11AM and...

Spyder 10 th Homecoming Anniversay Valcourt Canada

This has been true for a long time. But I can never recall ever being asked at the border and have not had an accident to see if it really mattered. Still, it cost nothing and should only take a few days to be sent.

Oh Bob Denman!!! Something JUST for you (although any can see it!)

Two things, One; This is very similar to what Gen. "Blackjack" Pershing suggested well over a hundred year ago. (dipping bullets in pig's blood) Two; Skip shooting bullets or pellets tend to travel along the surface. Said subject would be, ah, ankle-capped. But it does work.

    Bandana/Head wrap vs Ball Cap

Naked under the helmet. Because I'm also a large format photographer when I stop, if I need a hat it's a Tilly. If I have to explain, you would not understand.
