• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help! First Spyder for wife and I - STS or RTS

To me, the RT is about like you described, with the ST being more traditional motorcycle position with your feet pretty much directly below your butt. On Edit: I just had to go down and check it out. The ST does put your feet farther forward, very much like a traditional standard motorcycle...

Is there a Jack that will raise the Spyder up 24 Inches

I've never seen a PitBull jack/stand for the Spyder, but they are still selling excellent gear: https://www.pit-bull.com/.

Spyder has to stay at dealer?

Yeah, that really is unreasonable, and I've never heard of a shop doing that. Hopefully there are other shops that aren't too far to use.

Help! First Spyder for wife and I - STS or RTS

From the "Do's and Do Nots" sticky on the forum: SE5 RTS 900 Series Clutch Engagement and Performance (Does not apply to the 1330 models.): The Spyder's SE5 clutch is considered fully engaged (stalled) when the rpm's are at 3200 (+/- 200). See the manual. Running at rpm's at or lower than this...

Spyder has to stay at dealer?

So you can pick it up but will have to pay the $99 charge. Honestly that doesn't seem to unreasonable, but I think the dealer would work with you to waive, or refund, the fee if you brought it back to have the work done.

Help! First Spyder for wife and I - STS or RTS

The V-twins don't really rev that high, the redline is only about 9000 rpm, but the semi-automatics need to be kept above or around 4000 rpm to keep the clutches engaged and save the clutch packs. Not a big deal if you're used to multi-cylinder Japanese engines. The ST isn't going to be any...

    You should get two keys.

Looking at a Used 2014 RT Limited - is it worth it?

We found Peggy's 2013 STS-SM5 on Cycle Trader, but there were a bunch of newer ones too. Prices all over the place.

    Battery recommendations

EverStart is the latest name in the Interceptor. And the one in the RV is also from WallyWorld and was bought in 2015. I never seemed to get more life from the Yuasa than from other brands, and the price was always waaaay up there. Just didn't seem to be worth the premium.

    2013 ST-S Oil type

Here's a picture of Peggy and I dancing through Tail of the Dragon. I have since had the wheels powder coated red. That yellow does look good though.

2013 STS - been on tender, but now won't start! Is it dead? Where is it?

Connecting the jump starter as you described should work. Provided the battery isn't so dead it soaks up all the juice from the jump starter. Those work well with low, or very low voltages, but whether they will work with a totally drained battery with a possible dead cell, I don't know. Please...

    2013 ST-S Oil type

Thank you. It is sweet. I love that V-4 sound and gear whine. I've owned it since 2000, and have never given a thought to getting rid of it. The sound at 10,000+ rpm is intoxicating. I've done some work on it including Ohlins rear shock and RaceTech springs in front, and SS brake lines with a...

    USB port on 2020+ RTL.........

I believe if it's a USB port, then the power would have to be 5V. That would be part of what makes it a USB port.

    Have you noticed ?????

Not to be political, but my understanding from a few years back was that the pipeline was to get oil down to the coast where it would be put on tankers and shipped overseas. My mistake, the pipeline was to replace oil imported from Venezuela with oil imported from Canada. But imported all the same.

    Have you noticed ?????

The price goes up, the price goes down, the price stays the same. It is what it is, use it or do without. Simple choice.

Just bought a 2012 RT-S and major oil leak is occurring.

WOW, that simply takes my breath away. "...only $700", you certainly have a better attitude than I. :) I'm still trying to wrap my head around $444 to repair water pump shaft gaskets and O-rings. But I would have a real issue with that $166 for an oil change, when they've already removed all...

    teardrop camper

I'm not saying it isn't safe, per se, just that it isn't something I'm comfortable doing. And I do think it's safe...most of the time. But I think there are times when things can happen, and accidents and incidents will occur. Airplanes are safe, probably 99% of the time, but sh--, uh, stuff...

    teardrop camper

JMO, but I wouldn't pull a trailer behind 2 or three wheels unless it had brakes. AFATG, I wouldn't pull a trailer behind a bike, period. I've seen the result of a couple of incidents that occurred when the vehicle, a GoldWing in both instances, tried to stop relatively quickly when the trailer...
