• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are you still riding in the Northeast?

Yes, I have to agree. Meg and I went for a lovely ride in South Jersey in mid 60 degree temperatures on Sunday as well.

Smell from bike, and it's not me....

With well over 3,000 miles mine always had the smell after riding, until today. I installed the cat bypass pipe and noticed the smell was not there today. It always smelled like Burnt rubber. I think I figured out what it was. There is a rubber mount at the very top of the cat. I bet the cat...

    Watch out for bad dealerships!

Your noise is coming from the saddlebag and brake light led drivers. I have not installed my white ring yet, but the red ring in the rear also generates noise. A very easy test, go in the frunk and remove the fuse for the tail lights. If all the stuff you installed is using the harness, then all...

    1330 oil level......

I agree I do as well. Before I purchased the Spyder, I researched if the owner can retrieve codes if the need arises. This information is need for troubleshooting the engine and other issues. The Spyder is similar to the Rotax equipped Seadoo 4-tec, 4 stroke fuel injected jet ski we own. Sure...

Shans - Portable CB set up

Thanks Bob. That is why I could not find it. I was looking for a logic high or low. So you are saying that the radio sends a digital "word" on the bus to the CB. You mentioned a spike upon keying and a spike upon unkeying. Bet that it is 2 different digital "words". Rather then going with a 555...

    1330 oil level......

I will make it even more confusing. I had the 3,000 mile service done a few weeks ago by my dealer. I was billed for 4 quarts of oil. Concerned, checked the oil level and it was up to the top bump on the dipstick. I believe the dealer put in 5 quarts but billed me for 4. I was billed for $283...

Shans - Portable CB set up

Thanks for the explanation, could not have explained it any better. When I made my harness for the Sena and had the radio accessible, I connected a VOM to every pin on the radio. Tried it connected to ground and to + 12V. Was looking for a high or low to ground or B+ while my Wife was operating...

    Watch out for bad dealerships!

Do you have any aftermarket LED lights installed? Are they in the off mode when the Spyder is in accessory mode? I ask this because I had the same reception issues with my Spyder with The FM and 2 Meter Ham Band. I own a RF Spectrum analyzer and was able to trace the noise source to the...

    Vibration on 2014 RT

Thanks for all the info. I ordered the pipe, even if it does not stop the vibration I will like not having all that heat next to the drive belt and belt tensioner.

Shans - Portable CB set up

Sorry, did not take photo's of that. The wire is wire tied with the bundle of cables from the handlebars. It was very easy to run the wires under the covers.

Shans - Portable CB set up

Hi Andy, I wish it was that easy. The flex circuit goes directly to a can bus chip in the control housing, the PTT leads do not exit the control as such. They are placed as a digital signal on the can bus. This why the flex must be cut inside the control and connected to external wiring.

Since adding a Sena SM10 I have developed a buzzing sound from my speakers

I still have the vibration as well, even with a belt tensioner. How much louder did the exhaust get with the cat off?

First time riding experience on a Spyder (F3-S)

Darren, Good luck with the new Spyder. With every ride you will get more confident in your abilities, and the Spyders. When I first got mine I cringed at each sharp high speed turn. Now after 3,000 miles I don't even have to think about, the Spyder just follows the turns. In fact I love adding...
