• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Heat question

I would get both. I use both on my 08 GS. I no longer get a hot right leg. Sometimes my foot does get hot when I use my highway pegs, but not very hot. They are both well work the investment.

    Front end shimmy

It could be the tire. ARe those the original tires? Four years is getting near the life span of the tire. Also there were tread separation issue with certain year RT tires. You might want to do a search on here for threads about that issue.

Loud clunk when shifting from into 1st or reverse.

I've noticed that when going from reverse to first. If I hold down the shifter and let it shift into neutral, then into first without lifting the paddle, there is very little clunk, versus going to neutral, lift the paddle and then into first.

    Slide Over Spyder - Honda’s Neo-Wing

Honda has been promoting that for awhile, but I have yet to see them list an actual production date. Now that BRP has gotten rid of the RS, STS maybe Honda will give it a try. There is a company that makes a conversion kit for Harley's to give them a similar reverse trike.

    Front Sprocket Failure

I had it happen on my 08. I keep an eye on the bolt and check it for tightness every 1000 miles. It will come loose. Someplace there is a bulletin from BRP to look out for that.

Anyone ever ride the U.P. of MI.?

Going across the bridge is thrilling to say the least! Take sate road 2 once you cross the bridge, great views of Lake Michigan. If you had to White fish point, stop in Paradise for some great fish and chips! It will be a great trip for you!

Tips for your skills test Look in the manual. BRP includes a section on what skills to practice when riding your Spyder. Your skill tests will include many tests that are similar.

    Right leg gets hot!

I've taken off the splash pans, wrapped the exhaust, put on Spyderpops heat management system, and I rarely have heat issues with my right leg. I actually get more on my left foot now from the oil radiator.

    Bearing in trans

So because he is in the aircraft business, that makes him an expert on Spyders. Has he even checked the belt tension? How did he know how tight it is? How does he know what the spec is from BRP? Where is his certified technician status from? You know what I can say I know all about airplane...

    another tire issue

Lamonster has not had any good luck with the Arachnid tires, others have said they don't last any longer than the Kenda's.

Vee Rubber VTR-350 Arachnid Touring Rear Tire

Hopefully yours does better than most others, that don't get much longer tread life with the Arachnids.

The most miserable road I have ever been on.

Next time stay off the toll road and take US 20 or SR 2. Both are two lanes and go through plenty of small towns so it takes longer, but much better ride.

    Right leg gets hot!

You can remove the splash guard, and install the air management piece that Spyderpops sells. This will help keep the hot air from blowing on your leg. Also if you have the stock exhaust you might need new gaskets.

Any reliable and trustworthy dealers in SE Michigan

That's true what they said. A 2010 doesn't need the dealer to clone the chip in the key. Many have gone to other places like Ace, or a locksmith to get it done.

    Spyder 10th Anniversary Homecoming Refund

The email I received stated that it was their early release models, not the only models available for 2017.
