• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just so you 2014 buyers know

The Ural gang refer them as runaway cats. Open the door they get out and just never come home. Ride and ride safe,

Just so you 2014 buyers know

I not certain but I don't think there are many bikes out there that don't have a cat somewhere in the exhaust chain. Hells bells even the wife's Ural has cats on both sides. One of the many necessary "improvements" on the 1939 design. Frankly if congress wants to leave part of the "guvment" shut...

Dave & Teds Most Excellent Adventures 2013

Dave, as others have said if there is even one device drawing power even though the Spyder is off you'll get a spark. I delt with battery powered equipment in the alarm industry for 33 years and if I new there was something that should be drawing power and didn't get at least a little arc there...

Light Smoke vs. Dark Smoke Face Shield?

Just a note about photochromic glasses and MC helmets. Some clear face shields are treat with a UV blocking coating and it takes UV to cause the lens to darken and stay dark. I thought about going with the transition coating with my newest pair of glasses the optician asked me to bring my...

    Trip planning software....

Street Atlas USA by DeLorme. I've used it for years. I'm about 3 years behind on updates but it still does a good job. If you want back roads etc you can tell it you're bicycling or walking and it avoids the slabs. Ride and ride safe,

Light Smoke vs. Dark Smoke Face Shield?

I ride with a Bell Revolver and am seriously considering the photochromic face shield. The drop down shade is okay, it could be darker and it could come down just a bit more but it works except for the really low angle setting or rising sun. As I understand it the transition effect is a coating...

Question for those that ride in large groups....

Traffic, I70, how long has that been going on :D. One slab I generally try to avoid :banghead:. 40 is more interesting anyway, slow, but interesting. Ride and ride safe,

    Helmets

Linda survuved her accident because she had her helmet on (Vega Summit II). Doctor who saw her bruises said it was a good thing. I'll likely not wear my half helmet again and right now wonder about my 3/4. I like my Bell Revolver and when I go out that's what I wear, just wish it were lighter...

    Spyder household research

Linda use to ride 2 up on the :spyder2: until she got her Ural. As soon as it's repaired she'll be back on it. Doctor said no riding even 2 up for at least another 6 weeks :opps:. Ride and ride safe,

Question for those that ride in large groups....

Road Guards There's presently an effort here in Ohio to try and make road guards legal and to get some sort of standard training for thme. It's biggest opposition is from law enforcement. Ride and ride safe,

    Waxing the Spyder

The guys I ride with swear by the Lucas spray for end of ride cleaning. I've been using Maquiers (sp) detailer and will switch to the Lucas product when it runs out. Tom says continued use of the Lucas stuff really help keep bug and road grim from sticking. I've found that Novus #1 has the same...

    Schuberth C3 Users

Thanks, went there first most of the reviews were several years old, I figured the guys and gals here would have more recent experience and since Schuberth has a sort continuing improvement sort of philosophy. As to Schnell (sp) sertification I suspect that it may be a cold day in:cus: when a...

    Helmets

Wife is still with me! Two weeks ago this coming Saturday Linda and her Ural had an accident (side car wheel off the side in a RH 90 over corrected and went off the left side) She had her Vega Summit II on and after seeing the bruise on her forehead and the one on the back of her head we're...

    Schuberth C3 Users

My search here yielded a few older threads and the reviews that I've found so far have been a few years old. After her accident Linda is in the market for a new helmet. We were over at Iron Pony in Columbus over the weekend and she really liked the looks of the C3. With the bum wing she wasn't...

Helmets and all that gear work

Believe me we both wonder about that and neither has any experience with the jackets with the armor in them other than to try a couple on. Question I have is will they prevent broken bones? They seem to be armored at the elbows, shoulders and some of them have armor in the back. I can see them...

Helmets and all that gear work

Five of us started out for a leisurely ride through the local countryside and lunch at a favorite biker spot down along the Little Miami River. About 20 minutes in things went to hell in a hand cart or maybe it was a sidecar. Sitting here right now I know for certain that the day has ended...
