• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A really neat graphic from another list

I'm hoping that maybe the owner of a yellow RS is on the list. Over on Soviet Steeds a gal that went to the Dream Ride in Connecticut posted a picture of a yellow RS with a spider on the frunk lid. I can't tell from the picture if it's painted or a "decal", but what I like about it is it looks...

    Wakey, wakey!

Don't know about the electronic one but years ago I had a customer in the towing/body shop business who told me that the majority of the dear strikes he had come in for repair or salvage had whistles on the front bumpers. Anecdotal, I know, but I've never seen the need. The only dear I've had a...

2 wheel GL1800 Goldwing vs Spyder fun factor question?

Last May on the way to Rolling Thunder three of us 2 Spyders and a Harley Dresser ran across US 50 through WVa in the rain. My first long trip and certainly my first trip on twisties like that. It was and interesting and fun morning in the mountains and our Harley friend wasn't complaining about...

US Marine Corps Motorcycle Safety Study

I've always wondered if someone were to shoot a tester if they could plead self defense. :D But seriously it's only seems to be getting worse around here since Ohio made texting and driving against the law. It's even a primary offense for anyone under 18, but like I said it seems to worse than...

Additional Stop/Tail light across the rear trunk

I have the Custom Dynamic trunk top and also added the mud flat running/turn signal leds. Guys who have followed me say the mud flap units make a difference day and night and the trunk top when I'm braking during daylight and as both extra light when running at night. Wife says the best addition...

engine surge when shifting down to first

Last time I was at the dealer I asked the service manager to check for me, he pulled up Bug's record and they showed not updates due. It'll get checked again when its in for the 6500 later this month. Ride and ride safe,

    gas in the emissions canister

Tony, I've noticed the same thing in the hot weather and find if I wait a minute or so after opening the tank it doesn't happen as frequently. I suspect the warm vapor in the tank affects the pressure sensor in the pump. I too follow the filling procedure recommended by Scotty and others fill to...

To ride or not to ride

Many thanks You folks have pretty much confirmed my feelings. I usually check the oil after every other ride unless one ride stretches out a long way then it might happen 2 rides in a row. As I said he's not using much oil at all but will keep tabs on it until I get it to the dealer, I kinda...

Anyone else ever heard of using the Front cargo as an ice cooler?

I too use a soft side cooler with blue ice. Considering the electric/electronics behind the frunk, loose ice and water doesn't seem like too great an idea. 😖 Just sayin' Ride and ride safe...

    Right/Left turn preference?

Now you've done it :D Up until now I hadn't given this much thought. I'll have to check next few rides. Ask the wife on her Ural and she'll tell you she much prefers left hand turns "flying the car" is not one of her favorite things :yikes:. Yet:D Ride and ride safe,

    Tire Air Pressure

I've always run 18 in the front and 28 in the rear. 6500 miles so far and what tire wear I can see (very little) it's even. And JT did you ever post a list of the parts for your dual hose set up or are you selling them? Either or would be fine with me. Ride and ride safe,

    Test module?

Cavman, Scotty will have a definitive answer but I suspect you've done the test - good fuse, no power - bad module. Always remember in the field of electronic the transistor will blow to protect the fuse. Ride and ride safe,

To ride or not to ride

Silly question and I pretty much know how I'm leaning. When Linda and I finished the Ural National Rally and parked the machines Saturday night the "Bug" had 6498 miles showing on the "clock" that's about 3300 since the oil and filter change I did before the Rolling Thunder trip. He now has the...
