• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Adding Heat to a Stock Seat

Good luck Bob. It isn't what I would consider to be a hard project. It is more time consuming than anything else, but I'm sure the second you hit that heat switch so you can keep riding another hour or more, it will all be worth it.

    Brake Pads Replacement

The answers you get are not going to be good guidelines for when you should be checking yours for replacement. As you can see, it could be less than 10K or more than 45K. It all depends on your style of riding. I am constantly aware of how much I use the brakes, and how hard I am on them...

Adding Heat to a Stock Seat

I spent the better part of last night just getting the stock seat mounted back on the RT. I'm convinced that when BRP engineers designed the mounting points of the seat, their intention was for the user to not be able to remove the seat, and if they did, to make it impossible to be reinstalled...

Adding Heat to a Stock Seat

Apparantly that is a feature they left off of the 2014s. Maybe in 2013 BRP thought they were doing everyone a favor by adding that feature; but since no one liked it, they got rid of it :joke:

Adding Heat to a Stock Seat

That is the question that was never answered to my satisfaction, which would have been "with replacement staples, same as stock". So here's the deal, the stock staples are a light duty, .25" with a crown of I think about .25". Now as far as I can tell, these staples cannot be found in the...

    Trade in value?

Craigslist.org. Post them in each city (i.e. phoenix.craigslist.org, denver.craigslist.org, etc...) you will be staying any length of time in. It is a free posting, and I've found it to be a better resource to me when I am selling a bike than CycleTrader.

Adding Heat to a Stock Seat

Well, I purchased the kit on Amazon for about $50. It arrived, and I cut them to size for the seat, driver backrest and passenger backrest. I took apart the seat and backrests, inserted the pads, and will get the RT put back together tonight. The pads came with Hi/Low switches, which fit...

    alternative solution for trailer.

I agree. I like the idea of having that extra bit of storage that might be the difference in needing a trailer, but at the same time, I'm not sure if hiding the license plate might be inviting trouble.

    2014 RT-S MPG Report for Texas (V2.0)

It's great to hear from owners of older RT models what an improvement the 2014 RT is. That is one area that I can't speak on, as I didn't have a previous RT, or Spyder for that matter, but what I'm hearing is about a 33% improvement in MPG.

    2014 RT-S MPG Report for Texas (V2.0)

Ann, I can only answer those who ask about speed, to say that those concerned about speed won't see the full benefits of MPG. While I have not been able to find an aerodynamics graph, I can tell you there are several dynamic factors at play including rolling resistance due to tires, road...

    2014 RT-S MPG Report for Texas (V2.0)

Well to me, the MPG from 2/15 is not accurate due to the time I had to sit at idle in traffic; so if you un-factor that, then mileage has continued to improve. Since these figures were all within the first several hundred miles, I'm thinking that break-in has a lot to do with it, although I...

    I have a problem…

...and I want to see you get the bike Chris. I'm sure you have your heart set on it, and I know my emotions always run high whenever I have my heart set on something. Is it possible to work with a different finance company who would be easier to work with? Sometimes Credit Unions can be...

    I have a problem…

I know that while a resident in Texas, I've purchased vehicles from out of state before and never paid a fee that was large enough that it ever caught my attention. The situation that I dealt with in California is one of the big reasons why I left. God Bless Texas!

Chris, I'm not sure where the break down in communication was, but having done business with Troy at Yamaha Funcenter, I would state my reputation that he is not trying to make any extra money from you. I don't know if you are paying cash, financing, trading in, licensing in another state than...

    This made me laugh

"Never been dropped" could mean a lot of things. Cycletrader charges for extra words, right? So maybe he was just paraphrasing. Never been dropped from a high speed moving train. Never been dropped at 12,000 ft. from an Apache Helicopter. Never been dropped off by the state police.
