• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question for 1330 RT owners on Elka shocks

I didn't know you had already had those things done Steve. If that is the case, then my guess is that you'll see some improvement with the Elkas, however, I know I would never feel that comfortable pushing the RT on a off-cambered rough road. I always welcome better handling to inspire...

Question for 1330 RT owners on Elka shocks

Steve, There are different stages of Elkas. My understanding is that the Elka Stage 5 is the one used for the RT. This has a remote reservoir which provides better dampening, which should greatly improve handing in the corners and adsorb very harsh bumps better. If these are not your issues...

Question for 1330 RT owners on Elka shocks

During the first 2,500 miles of having my '14, I was seriously considering getting Elkas to see if that would improve the suspension. However, since that time, the RT seems to be absorbing the bumps much better; to the point I don't feel I need to change the shocks. I'm guessing that it just...

    2014 RT Panels

Wow :yikes: Sounds like the dealer needs to create (or add this to) a checklist for assembly.

    2014 RT Panels

I haven't heard of any issues with the new RT rattling, including my own. It sounds like it may be an assembly issue, and as stated, you need to take that back to the dealer to have them check it out. If they say nothing is wrong, then go to another dealer, because it is far from normal.

    More MPG info

...and none was taken :) It just reminded me of a consistent statement that those who oppose talks about MPG always make. I've never understood why they would get so upset over other members talking about the efficiency of the RT. It reminds me how just a few years ago, the majority of...

    More MPG info

I too enjoy my ride. I'm not sure why people tend to compare enjoying their ride to monitoring MPGs. You know, one thing has nothing to do with another. Some people frequent the track to constantly try to beat their best 1/4 mile time; some of us constantly try to beat our best overall MPG...

    More MPG info

Don't over-think the fill-up issue. I always fill up until the fuel starts bubbling out of the tank, and this is while I am pumping at the lowest flow rate. Is it perfectly accurate within .001 gallons every time? No; but it isn't ever off by enough to even make a 1 MPG difference. Again...

    More MPG info

So are you saying that everytime you fill up; the amount of fuel you get is off by 25%? :yikes: I would find a new gas station. Fuel pumps are checked once every year or two by the state for accuracy, and shut down if they are the least bit off. If you are seeing a difference, contact your...

Addition to my last MPG performance (not interested...do not open!)

Congratulations Jim! This does surprise me, as I've never seen a report on the 998 being able to consistently get that good of mileage. No matter which model, you're right about the riding techniques. Are you tracking every tank? I constantly update my thread with every tank of fuel since I...

    New LED Lights

Very nice  So did you use the full 24", or did you have to trim some off? Also, did you use a resistor (size/type) to even out the flashing?

    2014 CalSci RT windsield

Thanks Don. I am really looking to have the wind hit me lower than the face, so I think I will go with a 17". My thought is to have one for summer that gives me a blast of airflow (due to the extreme temperatures we can get down here in central Texas), and have the stock one for winter (which...

    Video of the windshield shaking

Let me start off by saying "nice roads" you have there in Canada :sour: I hope most of your roads aren't like that, because I find the Spyder to be a vehicle that really likes smooth roads (maybe I'm just too used to the travel of a good suspension on a motorcycle). As for your issue; it looks...

    Plasti-Dip of Windshield Bracket

That being said, it's my understanding that Plasti-Dip will peal right off with little effort; which to me, makes it a nice option because if you get tired of the 'blacked-out' look, you can easily remove it all in a few minutes and go back to the original look. Also, you could spray this on...

    2014 CalSci RT windsield

Don, I too am interested in one of these "Shorty" shields. If you don't mind, I have a few questions for you: - How tall are you? - Where does the wind hit you with the shield all the way down? - Is the experience turbulent free? - What do you think of the vent in the middle; do you...

    Tires....a.g.a.i.n

Thanks Mike. I had a feeling that a regular tire shop could get it done. I'm going to stop by my local Costco this week just to see what they have that fits the 2014 RT. I'm only around 3K on the odometer right now, and the rear tire still looks fine, but I want to know what my options are...
