• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Scalarider question

We use the TeamSet Pro and love it. But occasionally we here a beep, or maybe two beeps together. THe User Guide talks about blinking lights, but nothing about beeps. I assume this happens when the set reconnects, but thought I'd ask. Cheers, Mike

    Trip odometer

While returning from a nice 250 mile ride today I noticed that trip odometer A was not working, at least not reliably. It would sit on a number for a long time, then suddenly change to a new reading, several numbers ahead of the previous one. Sorry, couldn't find an easier way to say that...

    Help us with Corbin seat

I like to sit higher in the seat, and the Lamonster cut lowered me more than I liked. So, I went with the standard shaped seat and have never been sorry. We love our Corbin.

    Fl Keys bound

Nothing especially bad about I-75 down the west coast of Florida, it's just another boring interstate with often heavy traffic. You can use Hwy 41 just west of I-75. In fact, when you reach Naples, where I-75 turns east and heads to the east coast, go south on 27 to 41 and take that across the...

    Fl Keys bound

Chris, This is certainly the time of year to ride to the Keys. Coming back via Hwy 27 I was grateful that it wasn't in the summer heat. Don't be envious, you and Cindy just retire and we'll take off for Alaska  Mike

    Fl Keys bound

Left Islamorada at 9 Fri morning, and arrived home at 5:30. Long day, but we were able to do it with minimal discomfort. It's been a long time since we've done any serious riding, and while a 400 mile day won't get any attention in the Long Distance/ Iron Butt community, it showed us that we...

    Fl Keys bound

Wow Chris, I'm sorry. I was going to call, but figured you and Cindy had to work and I didn't want to make you feel bad. The weather has been perfect. We're leaving in the morning and plan to follow 41 all the way home, more relaxed. Talk to you soon. Mike

    Fl Keys bound

While eating lunch with Mouthpiece and Cindy, Chris mentioned that he'd like to ride to Key West. Well, with the weather getting into the low 80's this week, Sis and I decided we'd do just that. Since we haven't ridden any distance in awhile, we started late this afternoon and made it to...

    No AM reception

We seldom use the radio, but spend a lot of time chatting via the intercom. While riding alone today, I listened to FM for a little while, then switched to AM and tried to find my favorite local station. I used search, but the radio never locked onto a station, no AM at all. I was riding just...

Post here if you have over 5000 miles, not kilometers on your Spyder

Just had my 15K service completed, hope to double this number with some long trips this summer. Mike

    BRP Headset

BRP is claiming that my GPS doesn't interface with my headset because I don't use the BRP headset; mine is J&M which works with everything, I thought. They asked me to hook up a BRP headset and see if it works, but my dealer doesn't carry them, and I doubt that another dealer would be willing...

2012 RT Limited - CB and Intercom Help needed

You are right about the Nolan's plugging into the RT. All you will need to change is the lower cord. The RT uses the same lower cord as the Victory Vision. I use the Nolan J&M combo and it works. However, I do find the system to be very noisy. Lot's of cracks and pops, even while simply...

    Lost stock antenna

Same thing happened to me last year. Mine was replaced by the dealer under warranty. They put a little Lock-Tite on and it's been fine. Mike

Swap out rear tire after 12,000 miles on RT ? - Moderate riding.

I just arranged to have mine replaced during my 15K service, and I still have at least another 1K left on the tire. I've had Ride-On in all my tires and I believe it has extended their useful life considerably.

    Rain suits

The best rain suit I've ever had was an HD Goretex, but was over $400. Used to carry it in my right rear saddle bag, until the bag popped open one day and I didn't notice it. Hope someone found it who will appreciate it. Other than this, I've always used Frogg Toggs and they've been great...

    Heated Gear

Does the RT have the ability to power an electric jacket and gloves. It would be great if someone made a controller that monitored the battery and would automatically reduce the power used, or turn itself off if the bike was not generating enough power. I am afraid of running down the battery...

GW Motor Trike vs. RT-S SE5

Why not try heated gear that's wired into your bike, like Garmin. I had a Widder (no longer in business) wired into my Wing and loved it. I don't know if the Spyder has enough electrical power to run a jacket like Gerbings, but I did talk to Fred Rau about this and he uses a Gerbing jacket and...
